Ditto... More explanation required.

EDIT: OK so it's another version of the SIO2SD?

I would think it's playing chiptunes... by means of emulation of an existing chip or maybe a selfmade custom core.

This is a MP3 player controlled via SIO commands, which outputs the audio via SIO AUDIO IN if I understood it correctly.

yes its "one chip" Disc Drive emulator like sio2sd and player controlled via SIO command as Montezuma said.

SIO Command: Play (which song),Stop, Pause, Continue.

takes no atari cpu time, plays music through SIO AUDIO IN. can be used to soundtrack a game :D

Sounds very nice (now that I understand what it is about). Can you post some detailed pictures when you get a chance. And lastly, is this something you proposed to sell, or is it only a prototype?

Nice idea. Is it possible to seek too? Could it play multiple at once, e.g. background music + explosions on top?

Can the Atari send the .MP3 file to the device, or does it all need to be pre-loaded?

just like the original game on PC or consoles have a soundtrack recorded on a disc so Atari also could have done the same background music. I well remember Quake with great music on the CD, or wipeout ... of course sounds of POKEY are mixed with music from SIO AUDIO IN.

seek? No, but it can be.

yes, atari can save file (wav) on SD and then play it...

Hello guys

IIRC I read somewhere (in one of the many Atari magazines) that Clock In can be used as an input for a second audio channel. (read: stereo)

Sincerely

Nice! So now we will have better music than Falcon in our games...

One more question. It will be cartridge or SIOplug adapter?

Will be it able to load game from that SD?

1. Volume control (SIO command)

2. ATR mount (SIO command)

3. PLAY/PAUSE (Motor Control ON/OFF)

4. Stereo plays as MONO (AUDIO IN - mono)

5. WAV mount - play once / play in loop (SIO command)
