Gyromite, Excitebike, Stack-Up, Urban Champion and Hogans Alley can contain the adaptors. I saw somewhere it was estimated that less than 5% of those carts contain the adaptors. They are pretty hard to find. The carts that have the adaptors are slightly heavier than normal carts, thats the only way to tell without opening them.

Actually I have another method that I haven't seen listed. I actually did pick up a Gyromite that had the adapter in it. It was heavier than a normal one. However, I had to hold the two Gyromites in each hand to really be sure.

 

Anyway, I have also managed to find a 2nd one in the wild as well. I traded it long ago, but there was one thing that was the same between the 2 gyromites that had them.

 

Each NES game that I know of...that is licensed by Nintendo, will have a 2 digit code stamped on the "Do Not do this" sticker on the back. I have seen many sites state that carts stampled with "00" on them are the best bet. However, the two I found the adapters in...were both held together with the 5 small philips screws...and instead of "00" on the sticker...they actually had "07". I don't know if it means anything really, but I find it odd that the two times I have managed to find them..they were in "07" stamped Gyromites. I am not saying every "07" one has it...but I haven't seen any other "07" stamped carts around since I found my last one.

 

Anybody confirm or state some other number besides the "07" carts I found it in?

Well I've got a '00' stamped Gyromite with 5 screws, no adaptor inside.

The 2 Gyromites that I have that both have adaptors, have 04 and 11 stamped on the back. So much for that theory.

My Gyromite has 5 screws, "00" and no adapter.

The double zero's mean JACK CRAP it's the Rev-A on the back you look for if it's there you know for a FACT it ain't in there..
