Rybags
Why would you buy it? You could tape off the stripes yourself and spray it with a $6 red aerosol like this guy did, all up cost probably under $100 for everything rather than paying the $245 he wants. Or actually... just save $6 by not executing such a cheesy mod. Edited May 19, 2016 by Rybags

Bryan
I'm glad to see Starsky opted for the full 48K of RAM.
+MrFish
Haha... "Starsky and Hutch"... definitely interesting to see. Unfortunately red automatically starts moving it into the toy category of computers. Edited May 19, 2016 by MrFish
flashjazzcat
I saw this dubious creation germinating in the Atari 8-bit Computers Facebook group. I hope not too many more machines meet a similar fate...
+MrFish
The stripe isn't wide enough... Plus, if you'll notice, the car's paint job has a dark outer edge on the white, which he's totally missed. Edited May 19, 2016 by MrFish
flashjazzcat
As you say, it's frustrating that the pic can't be zoomed in so we can evaluate the paint finish. Aren't larger images usually available by default when listing items?

flashjazzcat
Ah... got it. The paint job is reasonably executed but the stripes are tape stuck-on (hence the narrowness). No thanks.
Justin Payne
You guys saw this post, right? http://atariage.com/forums/topic/252783-customized-atari-800-810/?do=findComment&comment=3513680 If this is his item you might get some of your questions answered such as, "why" and..."WHY!?!". ? Personally, I'm holding out for the Huggy Bear version. Word on the street is it's VERY "one of a kind".

Panther
This is just wrong. A thousand times wrong. I did not see this. This is but a nightmare. Back to sleep now.
Goochman
For some reason I think it looks kinda cool - that Red comes off nice Matching 810 is sweet also I wouldnt buy it, but there certainly are worse case mods out there.
Bryan
I could see it looking cool in a dark burgundy, if all the plastics and labels matched the theme.
Justin Payne
The only way I see this been "not wrong" is if the case had somehow been so stained that it couldn't be brought back to it's original color OR this was some contest prize direct from Atari, which would make it a true one-of-a-kind and not some, "I painted it so now it's a one-of-a-kind". If that's the case, I think that statement but is almost as bad as painting it. That change is going to limit the amount of people interested in the item and that prices will do that further. +MrFish
C'mon, its got to Be Kitt from Knight Rider or nothing else... (actually I'd prefer Captain Scarlet or U.F.O) That was in the 80's. You'd have to use an XL or XE in that case.
