Omega-TI #626 Posted October 23, 2016 Then it will essentially become a CF7 device  I believe it would be better...  I can tell you the build quality of JediMatt42's device is a hell of a lot better than my NanoPEB is for starters. To me, that speaks volumes in itself!  While it's all imaginary at this point, I believe implementation, which can only be guessed at, would be much improved as well. If I had the programming abilities, I'd make it a DSK1 & HD type arrangement. Drag and drop from the PC would be nice as well.  Now that the NanoPEB & CF7 are no longer being manufactured, the time does seem right. I also like this approach because the user base can be built up now, giving people immediate enjoyment, while the opportunity is there to upgrade later. Also the 'gamer only' types might get by with only the 32K and a FlashROM 99, this is not forcing them to buy anything they don't want.

coleco1981 #628 Posted October 23, 2016 I just recieved my flashrom 99 in the mail. I was having some issues determinating what runs on it and what doesn't so this thread was very helpful. Will the collection of bins be updated soon? I see the last modified date was back in july. Â Thanks!

Many of us convert existing EA5 and Binaries to run with the FR99 board.

+Schmitzi #631 Posted October 23, 2016 As the CF7/NanoPEB uses a plain CF-2-IDE-adapter, isn´t it possible to connect an IDE-drive instead ? Can the DSR handle that ?  (hmm, did I ask that before?)

Omega-TI #633 Posted October 25, 2016 I've noticed we don't have a BASIC COMPILER in the Utilities section of the index yet either. Wonder how that was missed? Which program (if any) would you guys like to see in that section? I sure there is a "BEST VERSION" out there with available PDF documentation that we could plug in for all to enjoy. jedimatt42 #634 Posted October 25, 2016 To my knowledge the good basic compiler runs from the XB environment. So, probably would require some redesign. Â [email protected]

I highlighted them with a " ", which is something I'm going to start doing with all new additions now. The notices should stay up for a couple of weeks, unless we get inundated with a bunch of new conversions.

+Schmitzi #639 Posted November 2, 2016 Hi Wizards  can Copy-CAT be converted to run on the FlashROM´99er ? iirc the Copy-CAT is both, an E/A-5 and a XB-starter... (E/A-5 is OK for converting ?)  Another question: What, if the copyprogram itself is somehow copy protected on the floppy disk ? Can this be brought to the FR´99, in general ? Depends ? Sector ? Number ?  What is the most used copy tool today ? Latest version ? DM1000 v6.1 ? DSKU v4.2 J.Birdwell ? Same question, for DD-enabled TI-systems. (Rapid Copy v1.0 ?) Same question, for HDD/Geneve-enabled systems ? (........ ?) (HDD enabled copy-things maybe need different tools?) (DM2K v2.6 ?) Copy protected floppies ? (Copy-C v1.18a1 1988 ?)   Copy-CAT.dsk  and finally, a beta list for floppy/copy-tools:  TI-99-4A-SW-COPY-TOOLs-v1.00-beta.pdf   xXX

Looks like it's a basic program loading ea5 programs.  I'm just playing, trying to figure things out from outside the house. Learning and all.
