Le Derp
I recently found a TI-99/4A, and since I don't want to buy the program recorder, I am looking for a way to connect any old cassette recorder/player to the TI-99/4A. Is there any way I can do this? Thanks in advance!
Shift838
I recently found a TI-99/4A, and since I don't want to buy the program recorder, I am looking for a way to connect any old cassette recorder/player to the TI-99/4A. Is there any way I can do this? Thanks in advance! Really depends on the Cassette Recorder. You can read up on this thread and there are some examples of people using other methods like directly from their PC to the cassette port on the TI and MP3 players. HERE Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the cassette recorder to have all the functions that the TI requires will need I would think the Mic, SpeakerOut and Remote jack. There are ways in the thread I mentioned that can use other methods.
sparkdrummer
The recorder definitely will need the mic input and ear output. The remote control is really only needed for database saving, loading. I strongly recommend a recorder with a tone control. Most older recorders have tone control.
Le Derp
I have a cassette recorder with tone control, mic in, and ear out, but how would I go about connecting it to the system? As in, how would I wire up the proprietary DB-9 connector?

Le Derp
So in a nutshell, if I just want to read from the cassette player (or my PC's sound card for that matter), all I have to do is wired pins 8 and 9 to a 3.5mm headphone jack plugged in to an amplified source?
