tecmopsycho
I have been casually collecting Atari 2600 for the past two years. This year I have stumbled upon what i feel to be some good deals. I have an opportunity to buy this lot: Amidar Barnstorming Basketball Berzerk Boxing Brain Games Breakout Casino Championship Soccer Demons To Diamonds Dragster E.T. Fire Fighter Freeway Golf Grand Prix Hangman Home Run Indy 500 Kaboom! Laser Blast (x2) Othello Pac-Man Pitfall! Raiders of the Lost Ark Riddle of the Sphinx Space Invaders Stampede Star Wars Empire Strikes Back Starmaster Street Racer Super Champion Baseball Superman Tennis Warlords Yars' Revenge All of the games are complete with box and manual. Boxes appear to be in good shape. I already own seven of the titles so I would basically be getting 30 new games. The seller is asking $200 for the lot. What are your thoughts about this price for this lot? I know buying games is all in the eye of the beholder, but I am curious to see how many of you would purchase this. Input appreciated! Thanks. DarkCart
Most of these are pretty common games. The couple that are rare are overshadowed by how many of these games you can find pretty much anywhere. I'd pay ~$50, only because of how many there are and because there are a few obscure titles.
AceHart
Without me actually looking at the list, I am assuming that "I already own seven... getting 30 new games" means there are 37. At $200, that's $5.40 per. I have found lots of carts without boxes or manuals run about $5 +/- $1.50, so it seems fair to me, but it's no steal. Cambouis de l'Atari
37 CIB for 200$ ? I'd be very happy to find this on this side of the ocean :-) If you sell the 7 carts, consider it's even less than 200$, worth the deal imho.

hizzy
It depends where you live. Atari isn't common in my hometown, and, when you find it, the carts are in rough shape. I would see if there is some room to haggle, but it doesn't look bad to me. Not a steal, but not a rip off either.
tecmopsycho
Thanks to all for the input. I just talked to seller and found out that Firefighter, Amidar, Empire Strikes Back, and Riddle of the Sphinx are all sealed. I think I am going to pull the trigger. jhd
I am surprised and disappointed by the absence of a Combat cartridge in that lot.
high voltage
All boxed, I'd say it's good
tecmopsycho
I picked up the lot today. A majority of the boxes were in great shape, if not perfect. Turns out that all of these were sealed: Home Run Amidar Raiders of the Lost Ark Firefighter Pac-Man Othello Breakout Star Wars ESB Demons to Diamonds E.T. Superman Riddle of the Sphinx Yars Revenge Only bad part is it came from a smoking home.
EdwardK
Only bad part is it came from a smoking home. You could try putting them in a container with a cup of baking soda. Should help clear up the smell a bit(won't fix any yellowing though). If that doesn't do it, you could try activated carbon, or even a rag with vanilla on it. Rag with vanilla works amazingly well with alot of smells.

tecmopsycho
Do you plan to open them, or is it just for collection purpose ? I won't be opening the sealed ones, but I did just purchase the Harmony cart. I also have a few of the sealed ones as duplicates.

I've been putting them in box protectors and sorting them for my cabinet. When I get them all on the shelf I will try and figure out how to get a picture on here. Also, the vanilla works well for getting the smell out of your cooler if someone leaves fish guts in it and doesn't tell you. Good old redneck ingenuity.
