A brand new 2016 BUYING GUIDE for the Microsoft Xbox 360 game console with accessories and best games to get day 1! Metal Jesus & Jerry Barnacules talk about the 3 different Xbox 360 models, the controllers and much more!

We should have mentioned the HDMI port on the original black Elite models... oh well...

What Xbox 360 Games do you recommend new collectors buy day 1?

Too many games to mention lol.

My personal preference:

Oblivion

Skyrim

Dragons Dogma

Dragon Age Origins

Mass Effect 2

Red Dead Redemption

Fallout New Vegas

Burnout Paradise

The orange box

Midway Arcade Origins

Kameo

Alan Wake

Condemned Criminal Origins

Lost Odyssey

Eternal Sonata

Lego Star Wars Complete Saga

Burnout Paradise

There's a boatload of XBLA games too that are highly worthy....especially the arcade games and Game Room. Over time, sold individually, they ate up a lot of my money but I'm glad I have them. I also got a digital copy of Midway Origins so I can pretty much play a lot of them without having to dig around for a disc.

The older Xboxes & 360's can be finicky.

I have a 360 That I hadn't turned on in like 3-4 YEARS. Newer model.

Hit the power button, red light on the PSU. And RROD

Spent the better parts of two days and two "new" PSU's trying to reset / get it working.

What finally "fixed" it:

Blowing the "dust" out. :? Yep - not even stored it a dirty / dust area.

So if any gets an old 360 with a red PSU light - some tips:

Plug it strait into the wall, no power strips / filters (per Microsoft).

Disconnect Everything and reinstall - Try the original A/V connector with the HDMI unplugged.

Use some compressed air and blow the crap out - you may need to do this 2-3 times.

Try Holding down the eject button when powering on. I don't remember what specifically this does, but after the forth time I did it - success!

Hopefully this will save somebody some headaches down the road.

I'm still running my 1st 2005 non-HDMI white system daily. Only problem it ever has is the drive belt for disc tray. I clean the belt every couple years and life's good. Even had a few folks give me their old similar consoles when they couldn't get a decent trade value. Between luck and spare parts, I'd say my 1st gen has a long lease yet.

Did get an S model and keep it at my mother's house. I like it, but it tends to turn itself on.
