Sometimes, this is not a "community"...

Recommended Posts

I'm getting sick and tired of being banned from threads, just because I express my honest opinion. I even state... "in MY honest opinion"... to let people know that it's just MY opinion. If you don't agree, fine. Tell me that, feel free to discuss it with me, ignore me, etc. But it's no reason to ban me from posting in a thread.

Sometimes, this doesn't feel like a "community" at all...

Oh, stop being such a whiny little bitch. Banning you is the reaction from the community/i] to your poisonous troll behaviour.

You rather people ignore your aggressive and offensive comments; well you don't get to choose how they act. Deal with it.

If you don't like it, well, it is your prerogative to either change your behaviour or go away. The sun will rise again, and the community will go on, with or without you.

What happened now?

I've been banned before here on AA.

I think I've learned from the experience.

I mean.. I could be wrong... but.. calling someone "lazy" when they are releasing a game for FREE but not creating a box might be the problem. It will be lucky if he releases the game at all now.

I expressed my opinion about Super Pro Baseball, in that it should be released CIB. In the process, I said that CIB is the way to go, boxed releases are better than unboxed releases, and that, to me, this represents laziness on Dave's part.

Call Satan... I clearly belong there for these horrid comments. And we all know that "thou shalt not express thy opinion on AtariAge" is one of the commandments.

The irony is that I have nothing against Dave personally, nor his games, which I will continue to purchase.

But if the powers that be on AtariAge are so soft, that they can't take a simple "in my opinion, that's a sign of laziness on your part" comment, then I have no respect for them. I do, however, have respect for Dave. Go figure.

Banning should be reserved for profanity, name-calling, and the like. None of which took place.

Calling anyone lazy or saying laziness is a huge insult. Especially in a public forum.

No other way to tell you that.

One of the worst things that I've encountered in all my years on this planet is how society has equated expressing one's honest opinion with trolling.

I seriously gotta get "Expressing One's Opinion (does not equal) Trolling" printed on a T-shirt.

If it's a huge insult, it's because we're all soft. We need to grow up, and stop being so insulted by every little, tiny thing.

... or just stop insulting people to begin with.

It is easier to change yourself rather than trying to change everyone else.

“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

I do agree with Eric about being banded form threads, not with when , what, or content he posts but that's his opinion. it is a free world to express your thoughts .. I do see others posting to threads with some questionable comments as well with nothing ever mentioned. Just my opinion on this. There was no reason for Eric to be banned from that thread. Yes that comment was rude and inconsiderate to Dave. But we Adults we can take it..

That's a little hard to do, having been raised with the mentality that something like that is NOT an insult.

I'm just going to go ahead and say that I WILL be buying Dave's future games, regardless of the format. I never said that I wouldn't, and I'm not going to change my mind now. Just because I think CIB games are light-years better, that doesn't mean that I won't support (and enjoy) his games.

With that said, I am done with this topic.

You call him lazy with no clue of his personal life. This is a hobby for him. Not a job. Lots of people have jobs, disabilities and other personal reasons why they cant fullfill your demand list. I can guarantee you one thing. If you push it he will walk away from releasing this. Then you will see what its like when everyone here wanting this release starts trolling you. Some of us are happy with rom and board releases.

OK, I said I was done, but one LAST thing...

This is what I wrote regarding Super Pro Baseball:

"It should be a complete everything. I'm sorry, Dave... just expressing my honest opinion here... but to me, this is laziness on your part."

Everyone else (besides me) is focusing on this part (see underlined):

"It should be a complete everything. I'm sorry, Dave... just expressing my honest opinion here... but to me, this is laziness on your part."

But, I only see this part (see underlined):

"It should be a complete everything. I'm sorry, Dave... just expressing my honest opinion here... but to me, this is laziness on your part."

In other words, I couldn't have said it any nicer. I was making it clear FROM THE BEGINNING that it was just my opinion, and I even apologized in advance for that opinion, for all of those who might disagree with it.

Oh man! I am really losing it, I never made the connection before that this is same OP as those threads. I am all for fun and games, but I won't be chiming in with shenanigans anymore (not sure I have, but seems like something I would do), there is a real problem here and I hope he gets the right help to sort it out. Sometimes it takes years and many doctor changes to find the secret sauce. Good luck.

Yah sorry but that's a total dick move, especially for someone who has done so much for the Inty homebrew community. Hey, I'd much rather this was a CIB release as well because I think David and his team have put some great boxes together but I chose to express my opinion on this matter without insulting him. Sorry but you don't get to choose how people react to your comments.

A coarse comment is a coarse comment even if you put the words "my honest opinion" at the start.

I always follow a gold rule for commenting: Would I be offended if these words are directed to me?

What is interesting how much less time I waste reading useless posts since I started using the Ignore feature. If more people used it there would be a a lots less "troll-whacking" and more "community"
