All this arguing about black being or not a color. It is an it isn't, depending on who you ask. You can read all about it here: http://www.colormatters.com/color-and-design/are-black-and-white-colors

Who is arguing? For the purpose of putting black ink on white cardboard, black is a colour that is fully recognized as a "colour" by the printing industry. Next we will be discussing the proper spelling of colour ;-)

True black does not exist in print, so any printed black is going to be some tone of a very dark grey, with some amount of an underlying hue as well.

 

This is what I learned in a college class called Color in the early 90s, that is what I am going to stick with ;)
