Steph_DIY #1 Posted June 16, 2016 Hi everyone, I'm a newcomer here and my question is about my digital data drive. When I put the power on, the right spindle is always turning. I swap it with a good one and it worked so it's not the Adam. I put the defective one in my second Adam and it's the same thing, the motor turn and turn and turn... I need more research to find the problem but want to know if someone have seen this before. Thanks.
NIAD #2 Posted June 16, 2016 The Controller PCB in the Data Drive is the culprit. There are actually 2 small PCBs in the drive that are stacked on top of each other, but I'm not sure which one would be the culprit. Probably best to take the drive apart and give everything a good cleaning with De-oxit and 90% Isoprophyl Alcohol to see if you get lucky.
