GruBBworM #1 Posted April 29, 2003 FROGGER II THREE DEEP DID I PAY TOO MUCH OR DID I GET A GOOD DEAL ???? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=21177
Atari Master #2 Posted April 29, 2003 You payed a pretty basic price for a rarity 6 cart. I can't say you got ripped or got a good deal. I guess I can say you payed up what it's worth. Cool game though... I only have 1 rarity 6.
Intrepid #3 Posted April 29, 2003 hmmm I saw a Frogger game at the local Thrift today for $.99. I thought it was just a regular Frogger but I can't find anything like it online. All the Atari regular froggers have the picture of the frog, but I think this one only had the word "Frogger" on it. I thought it was an INTV cart so I passed it up, but I'm wondering what it actually was. Guess I'm gonna head back out. Chances are someone will figure out what it is in the 20 mins that I'm gone, but oh well. Oh, are TI carts worth anything? There is one there as well. Couldn't find the system, just the single cart. Munch Crunch or something like that. Be back in 20 mins.
Intrepid #4 Posted April 29, 2003 hmmm, lame. The Frogger cart just says "Frogger" on it. Not Atari though, the casing is too small and the board is too big. What is it? Coleco? The TI cart is "Home Computer Command Module: Munch Man" Interesting. I wonder where the system is for either of these carts. Not like anyone is donating single carts. I'll have to check back more frequently to see if these pop up. Since I don't have systems for either of these, they're in the trade-bin for now. Anybody have any Atari/Odyssey2/NES commons they want to swap for either/both?

If you have the means to, post a picture of the Frogger cart. I'm sure someone will be able to identify it quickly.
Intrepid #6 Posted April 29, 2003 I didn't realize till I got back to my comp that I scanned it in black and white, but this should suffice to illustrate the dimensions of the cart/label.
Pitfall Harry #7 Posted April 29, 2003 That appears to be the Frogger for the Commodore-64. Ben
hepcat #8 Posted April 29, 2003 I think the $25.00 you paid for the cart is reasonable. It's in the range of what I've seen Frogger II go for in the past, when sold by itself anyway. However, the $4.00 shipping charge for a single cart is, as always, outrageous. --Jason
Intrepid #9 Posted April 29, 2003 That appears to be the Frogger for the Commodore-64. Ben awwww, man. That's unfortunate. By the looks of this auction, you're right. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8&category=3545 Thanks, Ben. The offer is still out there. I have no use for the cart and would be more than willing to part with it for commons. Sorry about derailing the thread, I hadn't intended on posting this much in it. Thanks again. Not to say that this guy might charge $4.00 and you will receive a $0.90 cent bubble envelope but I don't get it in general.

Factoring in the cost of an envelope, the cheapest this could be shipped for is probably around 1.39 and if it's going priority, you're only talking an extra 15 cents. This is exactly what I'm talking about. I've paid $4.00 shipping for a cart only to receive a package with .75 cents postage on it. Bubble mailers don't cost that much. It's gotten to the point where the shipping charges prevent me from bidding on single carts I need, even if they're in great shape. Since I'm not going after 9's and 10's, the carts I want are going to show up time and again and I can wait for a seller who's not going to gouge me on shipping charges. However, I probably shouldn't have used the phrase "as always." Your items are predominantly big ticket items, and if I was in that market, I wouldn't mind paying more to make doubly sure the item reaches me safely. --Jason
CPUWIZ #13 Posted April 29, 2003 I generally demand my items to be shipped in priority mail boxes when I pay more than $3.85 for shipping. You might want to try that sometime.
Pitfall Harry #14 Posted April 29, 2003 I've lost count of the number of times I've paid $4.00 for shipping and handling, only to see my rare, loose cartridge show up in a 99-cent padded mailer bag with holes torn into it where the seller ripped off the old address labels from the guy who previously mailed it to him. MegaManFan #15 Posted April 30, 2003 I'm not sure I'd pay that much for a Frogger II, but then again I haven't gotten that desperate to get it (yet) since I have it on 5200 and C64 already.
