coliver80 #1 Posted July 13, 2016 My wife has about 10 M Network Carts(Kool Aid Man.. ex..) None of witch will play on any of our working 3 2600 systems. Im assuming this is just by chance as I've never heard of Atari blocking certain manufactues as Mattel did to Coleco. Are these Carts just much poorer in craftsmanship ... I mean out of 90 some diffrent 2600 carts all the ones that dont work are the M Network carts??
BassGuitari #2 Posted July 13, 2016 I think M-Network carts are just flakier than other games for the Atari. Some of mine need to be finagled a little bit sometimes before they'll work.I've had/have hundreds of 2600 games, and only a handful simply refused to work; at least half of those were M-Network carts. Keatah #3 Posted July 13, 2016 Same with me. BITD. They worked on some consoles, but not others. Just poor quality.
+GoldLeader #4 Posted July 13, 2016 Until you mentioned it, I hadn't thought about it. But yeah even boxed copies of some of my favorite games from BITD like Dark Cavern or the Tron games seemed to require more jiggling and repositioning before they'd work. And of course the problem can be worse if they're loose carts from a lot on ebay...I'd just clean them really well with Q-tips and rubbing alcohol, (maybe some duct tape to get out any "fuzz"), and then prepare to make them work. Personally, even if they required more care I was always still able to get them to work ...
coliver80 #5 Posted July 13, 2016 Yeah they must be flawed design. Tried alcohol and q-tip... tried buffing with magic eraser... tried lightly sanding contacts... even tried re soldering all solder points inside cart. They still will not work in the 4 switch woody.. the darth vader or the junior..
