dgdgagdae #3376 Posted June 29, 2018 For those still awake at this hour, Best Buy has NES Classic Editions in stock and still available for purchase with free shipping: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nintendo-entertainment-system-nes-classic-edition/5389100.p?ref=199&loc=TnL5HPStwNw&acampID=1&siteID=TnL5HPStwNw-padvx5KMoWzXmQAPB0XPpA I just ordered one from Best Buy online, and it should be here by Tuesday. I have one from the initial batch, but I too am hoping the audio lag or CRT filter are approved. If not, I'll either return it or piss Tanooki off by selling it at a profit, if that's even an option. Atariboy #3377 Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) The Wal-Mart manager that looked for me didn't do a very good job last night. Stopped by there 45 minutes ago and asked again about the standalone controllers, and they had them. I didn't compare all the fine print last night, but the system boxes sure look identical. Going to wait a few days and hopefully see some impressions though to confirm what everyone suspects before I bring it back. If there is a nice jump like pixel interpolation to combat shimmering and perhaps even improved audio emulation, I'll hang on to it. I did take the extra controller out and had a look a moment ago. The controller cord is still approximately 3' I'd say rather than the SNES Classic's 5'. Not at home so I can't line them up side by side, but I'd say it's identical or extremely close to it. So don't buy a $10 controller if you're just hoping for 2' more feet. Spend it on Amazon for extension cables instead. Trinity #3378 Posted June 29, 2018 Just got back from Target with one. I was the first one to get one,,, Again! 1 of 50. Only a few people in line. The girl said they only had one extra controller come in. As far as I can tell there are no changes. I can tell there is lag on Galaga. The controller cord is as short as ever. But, I'm still very stoked to finally get one.
+Atari_Warlord #3379 Posted June 29, 2018 Ordered one from Best Buy. IGN claims Amazon will have them later today. Glad to see Nintendo actually wanted my money as I was never going to pay more than retail.
monzamess #3380 Posted June 29, 2018 Amazon had some for Prime members about an hour ago and those are already gone. Not sure what's next.
derFunkenstein #3381 Posted June 29, 2018 Had no problem getting one from Best Buy. I had $85 in rewards points from where I bought my Mac earlier this year, so I got it basically for free. I could only use the reward certificates in $5 increments so I had to pay like a dollar out of my own pocket.

Do whatever you want with it. I don't care. I'd like to get a controller if that's even possible. Fact is I don't bother with much of anything else anymore at all as it's not worth the annoyance. The couple things that matter at the moment are Ys on Switch and tinkering with my new GB Light.

0078265317 #3384 Posted June 29, 2018 Just went to target 30 minutes ago and got one. No line or anyone ahead. So surprised. He said its because they did not anticipate the demand last time. Now they have more stock. Bestbuy is sold out online. But every target near me says on their website they have it. Well most targets. Online can not buy. But most local target have it.
wolfy62 #3385 Posted June 29, 2018 I just got one at walmart 7am P.T. They keep them in the back and ring you up in electronics so no one can steal them. Extra controllers are $10., system is $60. Finally!!!😀

0078265317 #3387 Posted June 29, 2018 Ebay resell factor is no longer an issue. If they have enough supply now nobody will pay ebay double or tripple.
Tanooki #3388 Posted June 29, 2018 Probably not double or triple, but maybe 50% more out of panic, or ignorance could hit double temporarily. I wouldn't be surprised to see one on ebay paid out at $90. I guess when I get free here today I was going to go out to get some free/me time as the wife and kid are at the zoo and she had a horse riding lesson later I could swing by a couple targets and look for controllers. We have third party bunk, but I'd love to get at least one legit controller, if not one for both our systems for my daughter too.
ubersaurus #3389 Posted June 29, 2018 Grabbed the system this morning off Best Buy's website - just wanting to get a spare controller now. Maybe I'll poke around this weekend.
wolfy62 #3390 Posted June 29, 2018 I am going back to walmart later,I will look for controllers while I am there.
Tanooki #3391 Posted June 29, 2018 After that last comment I made, felt a need to look. Current ebay sales just since they came onto the shelves seems to be capping out around $85-90 with or without shipping a factor for the system, and the $10 controller is up to $25 or more shipped. The used stuff seems to be looking at the retail for new, curious to see how this adjusts outward from today. It could be one of those temporary hits or this just got buried as an item to resell due to the lack of value to bother with it until later one once it's not sold any further in 2019. For all we know Nintendo said they'd so the SNES and NES through 2018 but never said they'd hard stop either. If it stays profitable and much so through Christmas I could see them just keep it around as it would just be money in the bank for them.
Oldschool80skid #3392 Posted June 29, 2018 FINALLY!!! I was able to get one from my local Walmart this morning, but not another controller. However, I did manage to pick a controller up from a local Gamestop during my lunch hour.
Dr Manhattan #3393 Posted June 29, 2018 I was lucky enough to get mine during the first round of shipments, but I decided to go out on the hunt to help a few friends who missed out last time. One of the local Target stores in my area had 40 units and they did not sell out. They're now sitting next to unsold SNES Mini Classics. It's great to see that Nintendo is completely squashing the scalper market. These things will be everywhere all summer long.

Tanooki #3398 Posted June 30, 2018 That best buy link was lit up around when you did it, but if you went from add to cart into - pay for item, it red barred it and demanded removal as they had none. Trust me I tried and I didn't see any $15 shipping but I'm in the US.
