coliver80 #1 Posted July 15, 2016 I've done homemade av mods to 4 systems.. 2 woodies.. a darth vader and a jr. The juniors color is so much more vibrant and bright then the 4 switch models.. is this just by chance or is there a reason for this.. and even better question is there a way to make the 4 switch output more like the jr. Ive already tried adjusting the pot.. that simply changes color.. doesn't effect saturation or brightness..
coliver80 #2 Posted July 15, 2016 Answered my own question.. did some reading at it seems that after rev 16 Atari put a 820 ohm res. between legs 6 and 9 of the Tia chip to improve color. Tried it my self and greatly improved the color of my rev 14 board.

I did that mod to my Rev 14 "daily driver" Woody some months ago and even posted a thread when I did it. It's a nice, quick little fix. Rev 16 boards are where this fix was added into the design at the factory. My Rev 16 Vader, though unsocketed and thus a PITA to replace chips, has excellent color saturation.
