What other games are similar to Final Fantasy Adventure for GB?

I'm about halfway through this game and really enjoying it. After I am through with this game I would like to play another that is like this one. It doesn't need to have rpg elements like stat levelling, so games like the original Legend of Zelda for the NES are fine too.

The systems I am looking at are NES/SNES/GB/GBA/SMS/Genesis/PCEngine.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Zelda:Link's Awaking for the Gameboy.

Neutopia 1 & 2 for the Turbo Grafx/PC Engine.

 

Crystalis on the NES.

 

Willow (sort of) on the NES.

 

Golden Axe Warrior on the SMS.

Any of the Final Fantasy remakes on GBA are great.

 

Any of the Zelda games on any system.

 

In my opinion, this sort of game is best on a handheld that you can take anywhere.

I'll also vote for the Legend of Zelda's, the Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons are excellent games for the GBC. Link's awakening is also very good and for the GB, though the DX edition for the GBC is superior in my opinion. Secret of Mana and Illusion of Gaia for the SNES are also quite good.

For the monochrome Game Boy, Rolan's Curse 1 & 2 are probably the closest games to FFA and LoZ:LA, although they don't look like they are quite in the same league. With Color comes LoZ:LA (again), OoA and OoT, but there is a decent port of Crystalis as well.

Conker's Pocket Tales for the GB Color comes to mind. It kind of has a Zelda-ish style. There's also Beyond Oasis and Crusader of Centy for Genesis and Y's Book 1 and 2 for the PC Engine/Turbografx.
