+atari2600land #1 Posted July 25, 2016 In case you don't read the Newbie 2600 Programming forum, I'm working on a game involving my 50-foot-tall stalk of Celery character I made. This is in assembly, my first assembly game. I am aiming to keep it at 2k, but would like some input on the game (besides "make it a paddle game" because I don't know how to make it read paddles or joystick. And besides, I want it to be a joystick game for those who don't have paddles.) I can add some stuff because I have like 600 bytes left, but nothing too dramatic because the overscan is only 17. I am thinking of calling this "Cellar Celery", because the reason is so dark is because he's in the cellar. (The real reason it's so dark is because I don't want to show the HMOVE lines on the left side of the screen, so I'm hiding them.) The point of the game is to move the vegetarian incinerator to destroy the vegetarians and let the celery pass by (because it's not kind to burn your own kind.) So let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions on what I can do to improve the game. celery27.bin

+atari2600land #6 Posted July 29, 2016 Version 30 will be the final one unless someone can think of something else to do or finds a bug.

+atari2600land #9 Posted July 29, 2016 Thanks, guys. I made an instruction manual for the game. Now all I need is a publisher... http://www.atari2600land.com/celery2k/cellarceleryinstructions.zip
