Pac-Man World 2 -- Game Cube

Recommended Posts

I gotsta give a shout out to my curent favorite game, Pac-Man World 2.

A pretty decent first - person adventure, which has Pac-Man, Pac-Attack, Pac-Mania, and Ms. Pac-Man available to be unlocked.

I just finished the level Magma Opus, and I have to say at the higher levels, this is one tough game!

I enjoy it immensely.

I thought that “Ms Pac Maze Madness” was somewhat uninspired. I played it for about a week and don’t know if I’ve ever picked it up again after that. “Pac-Man World 2” has all the potential of being a great game but the awkward camera angles in many spots ultimately left me too frustrated to give much of a go at it.

Didn't you say the guy working on the camera for that game left half way through the game CPUWIZ?That is the only thing I don't like about that game. :ponder:

Yup, the programmer responsible for the camera code left 6 months before the game shipped on PMW 2 and another guy had to dig through his code. It wasn't pretty.

I presume you mean the box, it's a store display box, the kind that was used to tease people before the game was out.

There is also another version of it which is huge but I can't find it. :ponder:

What's being stated here? CPUWIZ works for Namco and worked on Pac-Man World 2? Or is CPUWIZ just a manic collector of Pac-Man stuff?

I bought Pac-Man World 2 about 2 months ago, and my 2 kids (8 and 3) played it a lot for a while until it was beaten. I mostly play Pac-Mania and Pac-Man. ;)

The frame rate on the game is SO smooth at 60fps that it gave me a slight case of nausea the first time I played it -- and I'm NOT one of those people who get sick typically be 3D games. Anyway, I (and the kids) also liked the original Pac-Man World on PSX too.

In his own words to me, "Check the credits." Well, I'm going to have to go out and buy a copy of the GC version today so I can! :D

Out of curiosity, which parts of the game were you responsible for CPUWIZ?

This was actually the second GameCube game I got, and I think it's excellent... I only wish I had waited a little while until the whole multiplayer GBA Pac-Man bundle was available :|

My only real complaint about this game is that the camera is pretty wonky... It doesn't seem to make any sense why the camera sometimes locks itself and refuses to let you control it at all :? Also, the music seems somehow detached from the game... I thought the same about Rayman 2 as well. I'd not sure how to describe this, but it just doesn't seem to fit the game for some reason.
