AskewTV #1 Posted August 16, 2016 Hey I am having problems with the color on my Atari 2600. On pitfall everything looks green, and on some other games it just doesn't look anything like stella. Is it because I used a male (phono) to female (coaxial) piece? I already tried adjusting the color by opening my Atari. Model: 2600A
Thomas Jentzsch #2 Posted August 16, 2016 Some pictures might help.
+DrVenkman #3 Posted August 16, 2016 If you've already adjusted the color pot on your 2600, you might have a bad RF modulator, bad solder connections to the modulator, or some other electrical fault in the machine. As Thomas says, photos of the screen might help diagnose the issue more precisely.
+-^CrossBow^- #4 Posted August 16, 2016 Also a failing TIA will do this. I've had to replace at least one TIA in a H6 model because several of the colors were off or starting to do rainbow shifts during game play after a few minutes being on.

Osgeld #7 Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) Ntsc color encoding ... never the same color You can tweak the color temp pot inside the system till it looks perfect, until you run a different game, best to aim for the middle Edited August 18, 2016 by Osgeld
AskewTV #8 Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) Also, can you help me with one other thing? This may be normal, but sometimes I start a game up it looks like it has problems connecting to my TV, and when I turn it off it does a static sound for a second. EDIT: I made a video of it: sometimes it does it for longer periods of times like 5-10 seconds. Edited August 18, 2016 by AskewTV
KABOOMER! #9 Posted August 27, 2016 You can try open te VCR and read all its OK? No dust, trash, little pieces of metal, desoldering pieces, etc. Maybe only little maintenance and clean of contacts is the solution, if the problem persist, somebody have the solution.
