+xucaen
I just took my Wii out of retirement (not the U). I had purchased a handful of virtual console games, and I have 6 Wii titles. I am curious to know what's in your Wii collection and which games you own are your favorites? With 1651 Wii games released as of July 2, 2016, and 398 VC games, and 330 Wiiware games - that's a lot of games! - there's so much to choose from, I could use some advice from those from the Atari age. I also made a thread to discuss Gamecube (on the Wii) http://atariage.com/forums/topic/255979-whats-in-your-gamecube-collection/ Edited August 17, 2016 by xucaen
HoshiChiri
Going over my set, top recommendations are: Muramasa: the Demon Blade- gorgeous 2D side-scrolling action/adventure thingy. If you have access to a PS4/Vita, the high-def remake is probably the better option. If not, get this one! Fragile Dreams: A sort of Zelda-like RPG thing, with clunky controls but a whole lot of story. If you like artsy-fartsy indie games, this'll do the job. Lost in Shadow: An action platformer where you move through the shadows on the wall as oppsed to the actual level. Bizarre to play, but a lot of fun. (more artsy-fartsy stuff here.)

For one I've never seen mentioned as a highlight from the Wii's library, I really enjoyed Minicopter. Won't win any awards for its technical merits, but when paired with a Classic Controller, I enjoyed myself quite a bit and fully finished it. Easy to dismiss it as shovelware due to its low budget nature and the poor motion controls that it defaults to, but it's led to me seeking out just about every RC helicopter game that has been made since I enjoyed it so much. Super Mario Galaxy doesn't have anything to worry about, but it's a solid and unique effort that's quite different from the usual fare. $5-$10 well spent as far as I'm concerned. Emehr
Just a few games off the top of my head that I wouldn't want to be without: Boom Blox (I was pleasantly surprised with this one; good use of motion controller) Donkey Kong Country Returns ( A+ in presentation, level design, control, music, and animation) Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Metroid Prime Trilogy Super Mario Galaxy (my favorite of the 3D Mario games) Wii Sports Resort (worth it for Flying and Bowling)

Metal Jesus
I have a series of Wii Hidden Gems on YouTube, so you should check that out for game play...but here are four fun games off the top of my head: Dead Space Extraction - very different than the Xbox360/PS3 version, where this one is ON-RAILS and super cool with the Wii controller The Kore Gang - Third person action/platformer that nobody talks about. Fun and cheap Real Heroes Firefighter - yes, you play as a firefighter...but really this is a fun first person SHOOTER Sin & Punishment Star Successor - probably one of my FAVORITE games on the system. Looks and plays AMAZING. Super fun
