Jess Ragan #1 Posted August 20, 2016 So! A thought occurs. I just made a spinner, and discovered shortly afterward that people have made certain games (inside out Tempest Bedlam, for instance) compatible with spinners. That's great... but my Vectrex is way back in Michigan, and I've had limited success building controllers for that system anyway. Will these spinner-compatible games work with a mouse on a Vectrex emulator? Do any Vex emulators have support for spinner games? Please let me know... I'm itching to try them. Thanks! Vectrexer #2 Posted August 20, 2016 If the spinner you made is generic enough you might want to comment on the VIDE emulator blog site for support in that emulator. http://vide.malban.de
Jess Ragan #3 Posted August 20, 2016 It's just a Microsoft mouse in an Altoids tin, with a VCR head and cardboard circle hanging over it. It feels like a spinner, but to a computer, it's an ordinary mouse.
Arbee #4 Posted September 9, 2016 Are programming details available on how the Vectrex sees these spinners? We can certainly get support for them into MAME if so.
BinaryStar #5 Posted September 9, 2016 They are on buttons 1 and 2 on port 2 so the emulators would need to send the correct grey code through these buttons when processing a spinner controller.
