A little late this week but finally released.  this week on Battle of the Ports we take a look at a puzzle gamed from the masters of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive.  This is Tecmo's Solomon's Key.

This week I'm covering a game I'm always asked to take a look at.  It's Megaman X3.  There's more ports than you probably knew about.

I know only of the SNES original, a PC version, a PS1 version, a Saturn version, it got emulated on MMXC for various consoles, and of course the crappy Sega Mega Drive pirated version.

Also wasn't Rockman and Forte the true last Rockman game on the SFC, with a 1998 release?

Yes, that is right.  I meant to say X3 was the last X Rockman release on the SFC.

New video out today.  Can we finally have some good mobile N64 emulation?

Rather interesting how similar later consoles were to the SNES version despite being more advanced. I suppose it shows how much staying power Mega Man had since those systems welcomed 2D Mega Man in spite of focusing more on 3D otherwise.

Speaking of being asked to look at versions of mass-ported games, have there been suggestions to do these:

Lode Runner

Prince of Persia

Shanghai

Pipe Dream

SimCity

Boulder Dash

I also know you looked at Dragon's Lair before, but not really one that looks at the differences between versions, or is there no intention to do a video like that for the game at all?

Prince of Persia is one I would love to cover on Battle of the Ports.  My favorite version is the SFC / SNES release.

New video up today.  Mostly about the phone but I also cover some gaming in the video.

Will be interesting to see how each version handled the animation too.

Another gadget popping up that I didn't know about. Nice one!

The unofficial Prince ports were generally based on the same code, too - the C64 and BBC ports look pretty good, at least.

Check out the Anbernic RG503 with the Samsung OLED screen!

I appreciate the review.  Looks to be a bit of winner, though Anbernic's quality on this device seemingly could be a bit better.

It sure isn't their best hardware.  I mean, they go to the effort of using a Samsung OLED but everything else is just average.

New video today.  We are going all modern, well kind of. This week on Battle of the ports is Rayman 2.

Wanna see my city's p*nis?  Or how about the cool cinema lobby?  Those and more in the new Retro Core Life in Japan.

I'm getting in to these cheap smart phones.  Here's another which wasn't too bad for gaming plus has nice features such as a Sony camera and NFC.

Umidigi F3
