toiletunes #1 Posted August 25, 2016 Hello all, Four years ago, I got a beat-up cabinet. It worked, but the monitor took a minute (or so it felt) to warm up. I played with it for awhile, then put it in storage for a few years. Earlier today, my friend took it out of storage and left it outside the house. A few hours later, I got home, dragged it into the garage, and fired it up. Everything seems to work, except for the monitor. It takes about 25 seconds to warm up, then you get a line. Any thoughts? racerx #3 Posted August 25, 2016 Could be failing heaters in the tube (or bad solder there), the tube could use rejuvenation, or it could be something as simple as the chassis needing a new flyback or to be recapped. Those are listed in more or less the most likely order.
Mitkraft #4 Posted August 25, 2016 Worst case scenario the monitor can be replaced. The KLOV forum is to arcade games what AA is to classic consoles. I would soend some time over there and I'm sure someone can help you out be it advice to repair it yourself, help finding someone to repair it for you, or a source for a replacement. They have a subforum just for monitors. Also a tip: They are very big on retaining CRT monitors as opposed to taking the easy way out and putting in an LCD. I tend to agree for the most part.
