rayik #1 Posted September 2, 2016 Nothing wrong with DIY. Better to DIY than buy on ebay. See: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/235779-create-and-burn-eproms-for-standard-jaguar-2-chip-cartridges/ And no, I do not make these on "commission" or request.

skip #3 Posted September 2, 2016 (edited) All the effort to produce the physical item, yet you've used label-maker labels (though I'm sure you'll eventually do nice ones).I didn't know there was a cart version of Native demo. Interesting, I just checked and I do have a copy of it...who knew!BHH & Hockey 13 - I'm assuming the latter is/was a ROM hack (that had a release?). I vaguely remember hearing something about this.I've got to ask about a bunch of the betas you have up there. Are they generally freely 'available'. Any pointing in the right direction would be appreciated. Edit: upon further checking I do have a bunch, not all, but some. I'll have to test them on the Skunkboard one day. Just as I'm inching closer to completing my collection of complete boxed 'official' releases after over 20 years since my first Jaguar purchase, more and more stuff seems to be coming to light (I wasn't even aware of SFDX2, Tapper, VOMIT etc). The rabbit hole gets deeper... Edited September 2, 2016 by skip

Rick Dangerous #5 Posted September 2, 2016 I make these on "commission" or request. Cool. I will will take a full boxed release of each, with inserts, manuals, and labels. A high gloss poster for each would be a nice touch as well.
Fredifredo #6 Posted September 2, 2016 (edited) Protector SE is available here : http://songbird-productions.com/protector_se.shtml So Carl give you the permission to dump and copy it ? I'm a bad hacker ( too ) but I respect Carl and all he is doing for the jaguar ... Edited September 2, 2016 by Fredifredo
Stage_1_Boss #7 Posted September 2, 2016 Seeing a cart out of the bunch just reminded me, I still wanna try out Stormbringer, looks neat.
+madman #8 Posted September 2, 2016 No Jag collection is complete without multiple versions of Checkered Flag, because those will all get played a ton.
rayik #9 Posted September 2, 2016 All the effort to produce the physical item, yet you've used label-maker labels (though I'm sure you'll eventually do nice ones). No desire to make labels. I'm a bad hacker ( too ) but I respect Carl and all he is doing for the jaguar ... I agree with you. Carl and you do good for the Jag community. Nothing I make is for sale. ----------- The WIPs, incompletes and demos should not be on a cart. I just had extra materials and went a little crazy. To me flashcarts are the way to go. That does not necessarily mean piracy. I'll gladly buy a rom only version of a homebrew rather than a full boxed release. Some good Intellivision games available that way. Rather than commission or eBay, just make it for yourself

Maybe I've been hanging around the Jag online community for too long (20+ years, lol), but I like the idea of demos, betas, etc on carts. I'm not, however, much of a fan of games that are still being written/manufactured and sold being made at home rather than the money going to the publisher/seller (e.g. the Songbird and Telegames releases).

You have a good point. Would you play them on a skunkboard? If yes, what's the difference between skunk or cart in your Jag?

I'm inching closer to completing my collection of complete boxed 'official' releases Yes I would, but that's because I own almost every original release (and many of the post Atari Corp releases). I have no issues with playing ROMs of hard to get titles on any system. I also have no problem with try before you buy, hell, I'll sometimes have a game (again, on any system) for years before I find a legit copy. Morally (if not necessarily legally), with the stupid prices of Atari era Jaguar games, I wouldn't be surprised if people give up on buying them and making their own (or just running it from Skunk / Flash cart). Where I personally would have an issue, and I suspect others might as hinted above, is when there is a current supply of 'new' games from Songbird and others, why would you make copies instead of purchasing them? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to pick an argument, but when some of the developers and publishers are here on the forums and active members of the community, making copies of their currently for sale games doesn't sit right with me. I agree on this. Making your own Atari Karts bootleg is one thing as Atari isn't going to make money when you buy a used cart anyway, but making copies of carts that Telegames and Songbird are still putting out after all these years is against what the scene is about. Support the people that brought us those games and continue to do so. In 2016 you can still buy brand new Jag games with boxes and manuals, how great is that? Support it.
