MoparManiac
Well, after much effort and assistance from metarog and others and sending of parts across the country, I have news...Thanks so much for the assistance! Another O2 lives again!
metarog
We'll Hallelujah!!! So happy you got this going. I assume it was the chips I sent you? So glad to have another O2 in circulation. Yahoooo!
MoparManiac
Yep, it was the chips. I replaced them both at the same time so I can't confirm which one, but it works so I'm leaving it at that . Thanks again.

I assume it was the chips I sent you? So glad to have another O2 in circulation. Yahoooo! I have a broken unit with similar issues that I've spent hours trying to repair. My issue is I always get a gray screen, usually with a couple numbers and symbols on the bottom right side. 1. Thoroughly cleaned cartridges and connector 2. Checked for 5 volts on CPU and elsewhere (OK) 3. Bussed out continuity and checked shorts for CPU to cart (OK) 4. Removed both socket ICs, cleaned them and reseated them. 5. !INT is low and I get pulses on CLK and ALE. Everywhere else on the CPU bus this is no activity (either logic high or logic low) I have a strong suspicion that the issue is the CPU. Any other generous donors out there with extra chips on hand? I can't find them anywhere for sale -SSF Edited February 19, 2020 by segasonicfan
segasonicfan
Here is an image of what I get on screen, sometimes it's this, sometimes it's numbers. Ignore the white line on the bottom though, that's a problem with the LCD.
