Does anyone remember that commercial?

Recommended Posts

It was this commericial... I dunno, it was about life or something. It had this guy in his mid 30s playing an Atari 2600 (from the looks of it). He was some fat ugly dude. He was playing football (the black and white version, I have it) and when he won the game he did some kinda victory dance or whatever....

Well... I don't remember what the message of that commericial was. It wasn't for drugs or anything like that. Well.... I don't wanna end up like that guy being portrayed in that commercial.

I remember not too long ago seeing a commercial with a fat guy playing a football or some other sports game. And he got up and did some kind of celebration dance, and got all out of breath.

It was one of those public service announcements encouraging people to exercise for real.

Rather condescending, if you ask me.

P.S. I don't think it was an Atari he was playing.

No, AtariDevRiot was talking about some old commercial, where they showed the game he was playing; the more recent one you describe they never showed the screen. (Oh, and sorry, ADR, I have no idea what commercial you're talking about, by the way :))

Yes, that's exactly it. Now I remember. I think he could of been playing a Caleco or whatever.

Oh, that WAS it? (looks at message again) Oh, whoopsie...when you talked about the "black and white" game, I thought it was a really old commercial...I was in a big hurry when I was on here earlier though.

Yeah, the commercial was encouraging us overweight Americans to get off our video game-playing asses and exercise.

Yeah, I was talking about the game. It wasn't the color version of football. It was the grayscale one.
