Sonic CD, red or blue?

I just started playing Sonic CD for the first time in maybe 20 years (on my CDX). I always thought it was just like the cart version of Sonic 2 with extra levels or animations, but it's not. It's actually quite a bit different!

 

I've found two different versions of this game, a blue disk and a red disk (this one says "NOT FOR RESALE" on it).

 

Is there any difference between the two?

No, same game. One (the blue disc) is your standard longbox release. The other (red disc) came in a smaller cardboard foldout case and was bundled with the CDX console.
