How's your Jagcd collection these days?

Recommended Posts

I've recently added some of the new "demo" cd's to my Jaguar cd collection, like BlackIce/White noise and American Hero. As I was shuffling around discs to make room in the rack for the new ones, it occured to me that my Jagcd collection looks a lot healthier now; I've got American Hero, Baldies, Battlemorph, Black Ice/White Noise, Blue lightning, BraindDead 13, Dragon's lair, Highlander, Hover Strike: Unconquered Lands, Iron Soldier 2, Myst, Native, Primal Rage, VidGrid, World Tour Racing.

That's 15. All I need is Space Ace, Caves of Fear and the Demolition Man FMV discs to have everything that's available right now. Looks a lot beefier than ever, even if a lot of it is just demos and unfinished games, it's still cool to have so much more to play on the Jagcd! :D How about you? How's your Jagcd collection looking these days?

I have all of those listed above less Baldies, BD13, BIWN, Dragon's Lair and the Demolition Man cd. I also have SoulStar ;) (like you needed reminding :D)

That makes 15 as well :)

I could make CDs of any of my extensive BJL demo collection (JagTetris would make a good one, likewise Balloons) tho, so I could potentially have quite a few more ;)

I have to admit that my JagCD gets seldom use from the published games. Only the occasional BattleMorph or IS2 game get much spintime these days. The rest of the titles are lackluster in comparison. The majority of the rest of the time my JagCD is playing VLM and testing out various little JUGS-DD compatible projects and things like that.

Hey Stone, have you ever thought of making a compilation disc of those bjl games? I'm quite positive they would sell quite well... ;)

Not until someone writes me a loader program to use them with ;)

Seriously, the only reliably-working method of getting BJL games into a JagCD is to burn them as the boot track, which the Jag then loads to the appropriate location in RAM and executes. And obviously, you can't have more than one boot track on a CD :)

AFAIK, nobody's made much progress in reading their own data off seperate data tracks so far. We know it can be done since commercial games do...

You do realize that if there was an easily located public place where all the developers could go and discuss developments and projects that stone would have been aware that I had working boot loader code years ago. I probably could have even discussed my findings and methods for making it work back when it was fresh in my mind.

Too bad no such place exists.

Someone should think about setting up something like that!

Whoops, forgot all about the JUGS demodisk, probably because I don't have one.

I meant of the UGD people, since they've been complaining quite recently how their ideas for multi-loaders don't work. Carl had some similar stuff in the CGE pics CD but I don't know how helpful it will be to the other devs.

And probably nobody asked you...

Don't tell me, it would go right over my head ;) I just said I had a lot of BJL games, and most of them should still be freely available, I think...:ponder:

I'll probably burn CDs of the better ones for JFUK, but I'll not be making bonus multi-packs for anyone, primarily because it would take ages ;)

I'm still building my CD collection, but I have some good titles:

Baldies

Highlander

Blue Lightning

Myst

Hover Strike

Primal Rage (Thanks again Gregg! :) )

BI:WN

Vid Grid

Waiting for Native demo CD

Few titles? Yeah, but I'm 'working' on it ;)

No problem Tony - You scored that thing, too. I paid $80 for that copy. Luckily I found a lot on eBay that included Dragons Lair, Space Ace, Primal Rage and Braindead 13 - All boxed for $45! It also included Hoverstrike and Baldies, but those are a dime/dozen.

My CD collection lacks the Demolition Man FMV, BIWN (backordered!!!), American Hero (When are those going to be available, Stone?).

The only other game my whole Jag collection lacks is Barkley:SUJ

Oh yeah, someday Stone will break down and make copies of Soul Star available. Along with all the BJL games :? :P I'll need those, too. :)
