Flojomojo #3 Posted October 5, 2016 Huh, that can't have been authorized by Nintendo. It says "compact" but I can't tell if it's full size, or a mini like the official Famicom Classic coming out. Points off for composite AV, but it's cute that they've packed in a whole mess of games.
+save2600 #4 Posted October 5, 2016 Controllers look regular sized and the console larger than the Mini coming out to these eyes, and kudos for the a/v out! Mess of games on that 400-in-1 is right... all throw-a-way filler crap I'm sure. Cant wait to play me some Hammer & Nail and Nut Cracky afterwards!
Flojomojo #5 Posted October 5, 2016 Cant wait to play me some Hammer & Nail and Nut Cracky afterwards! It also has Spy Hunter and Gyruss, which makes it fun enough for me. I almost wish I had some nostalgia for the nasty-ass Famicom design. Come to think of it, I don't think I liked any Nintendo case design up until the GBA SP and GameCube. madhatter667 #6 Posted October 5, 2016 Well the FC has a smaller footprint than the NES did. I guess that makes it compact. Depending on what games are on the multi, and how well it's made, $70 shipped might not be a bad deal. There's probably the common pirate inclusions, perhaps a few really good games, and a bunch of hacks. Given that it's apparently a newer clone, it's likely NOAC. Wouldn't know without shots of the inside. However, for a bit more, you can get the real deal and snag a fat multi.
+frankodragon #7 Posted October 5, 2016 Can't say if it has 500 games. Unless it has those crappy Dream Gear games that are in the PnP consoles you'd find at Walgreens. Edit- just looked at the 400 list and, yes, the last column of games are those games which heavily use sprites from Contra and others.

Flojomojo #11 Posted October 6, 2016 That Amazon seller doesn't have the best feedback...and not being able to deliver an in-stock item for 40 days is a red flag. I guess it's a good thing we can't have next day delivery of every pirate knockoff console in the world.

Newsdee #14 Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) How different is this to every other Famiclone out there? To be fair the Subor D99 (which is quite commom nowadays) is pretty compatible and even runs the Everdrive(!). It's just a shame that it's controllers are made of the cheapest plastic I've seen in a commercial product (you can even squeeze them). Another funny thing is that if you open it there is almost nothing inside. Tiny PCBs with a chip inside a glob for power, cart, and controllers, wired together so they fit the case in the right "original" places. Controllers use a DB9 plug though, so if you feel adventurous you could rewire better ones. I just moved to a real Famicom. CatPix #15 Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) I went to a Twin Famicom myself; managed to get the FDS working, and got a Famicom to NES cart adapter for 25 bucks (with a nifty shell). That should cover all my needs in terms of NES. I plan to upgrade it with the RGB Tim chip in the future. Edited October 8, 2016 by CatPix
