I have been on one Trailways bus trip and they have to stop to go to small towns to pick people up and let them off. They also stop so people can get something to eat at breakfast ,lunch , and dinner. Never heard of one going eight hours with out stopping thou. It's an endless shooter that's not boring at all.
fdr4prez #278 Posted August 13, 2017 I think the California Highway Patrol is has played the bonus game and don't want people to play it for real:

Cool There's not a lot of places to pick people up in the desert. Nor get food. This one is MUCH better than the 2600 version. Proof here:

bradhig1 #281 Posted August 14, 2017 Wasn't the original Desert Bus a Sega Genesis cartridge or a Sega CD game?
+freewheel #282 Posted August 14, 2017 Wasn't the original Desert Bus a Sega Genesis cartridge or a Sega CD game? Yup - part of an unreleased SegaCD game.
+freewheel #283 Posted August 14, 2017 Hey! You're still alive! Yay! Yeah, I got a bit burnt out from the programming jam - so I've spent the past 8 months or so doing everything that has nothing to do with classic gaming. Plus I can't make PRGE this year, so sad panda

+freewheel #288 Posted August 15, 2017 Nope. I'm sad you cannot see the other Intellinites. There's always 2018. Or what I think we should plan for now - the 40th anniversary of the INTV, in 2019! Even people from Mexico are welcome

+freewheel #293 Posted August 15, 2017 in any case, deserting the PRGE is not a good idea Time and money, mio amico. I'm spending all my cash to see a once-in-a-generation eclipse next week, so PRGE got the short end of the stick. (Plus I've been too busylazy to get another game out for 2017, sigh.....) bradhig1 #295 Posted August 22, 2017 Arctic Bus - Ice Road Tuckers with a bus instead of a truck. Has anyone gone 8 hours to Las Vegas? How about this game on Colecovision with the driving controller? You would need a perma pak cause I don't think batteries would last 8 hours.
bradhig1 #296 Posted August 23, 2017 How long until someone dies playing any version of Desert Bus? What about the other games on the Penn and Teller sega cd anyone play those?

+freewheel #300 Posted September 21, 2017 anyone find any of the hidden stuff? I am not bothering to look for it. I'm not sure if this has been revealed or not yet, but... At the game-type select screen (where you select Desert, Arctic, or Deserter Bus), press 8 on the keypad. You should notice the arrow change. If you then select Desert or Arctic Bus, you'll be treated to the original Beta of the game. It's an entirely different game - a side-scrolling driving game, with more "retro" looking graphics like you would have seen if this game had been released around 1980. Same basic game idea though: all the fun of an 8 hour drive for one point! This was the first version of INTVDB. The core game mechanics are the same but I gave it a more modern, FPS look for the actual release. Hopefully someone gets a kick out of the alternate modes. As for other secrets... they're coming. As are ROMs for sale, methinks. Might as well gouge as much as I can for the charity Plenty of people have asked for ROMs, so...
