cjameslv #1 Posted October 19, 2016 So i just thought i sucked at Jim Power for the ST. Today i was pondering, man if the second button was jump on my sega master controller life would be all better. So i opened it up and it was as simple as cutting one wire (white)and resoldering it to the up (brown) wire lead...**your colors may vary**. BAM! All the sudden i'm a freaking pro, blazing through levels. What a huge difference from pressing up to jump and it took all of 5 mins to do.
ParanoidLittleMan #2 Posted October 19, 2016 Huh ! So, you made dedicated joystick for only one game
cjameslv #3 Posted October 20, 2016 (edited) It works great for any game jump is up. Gotta put that lazy never used second button to work! If i wasn't clear before the UP button works as well still. So why would it be a controller for 1 game? Edited October 20, 2016 by cjameslv
mattlacey #4 Posted October 20, 2016 You could always solder in a connector so that both Up and button 2 work do the same thing, then it's still legit for all games! Love the idea though, never liked using up for jump!

Love the idea though, never liked using up for jump! The up button still works. I just soldered the 2nd button to the up lead so the controller does works for all games.
Christos #6 Posted October 22, 2016 A good joystick won't give you any problem with up for jump. The main problem is in shoot em ups etc where you need to press a key on the keyboard to use smart bombs etc. I always find it confusing when a game on the ST asks you to press fire to jump.
