Arcade Games You'd Like To See Ported To The Atari 7800

Really need at *least* 3 buttons (punch, kick, block) to do Mortal Kombat justice. MK2 on the Game Boy wasn't bad - and it used a 3 button configuration with Start for block.

MK 2 for the Game Boy is definitely in my top 10 favorite games on the system, but if someone was to ever port Mortal Kombat to the Atari 7800 I think the Sega Master System version of Mortal Kombat would probably be the best design base. The designers of the Master System version set Button 1 as punch, Button 2 as kick, and blocking was accomplished by pressing back + Button 1. It sounds a little goofy but worked really well in practice, and I find myself being able to block a lot more reliably in the Master System version of Mortal Kombat than the Game Boy version of MK 2.

Pulsar by Sega/Gremlin - it's a really fun game, and I think the 7800 could improve upon the original.

I so agree on Pulsar!

It's really been forever, but I remember playing this in an arcade that was in the back of our local K-Mart. They put in a really nice little game room with black carpet and its own ceiling, and it was kept dark like an arcade should be...

Taking a cue from GoldLeader, it would be great to see these titles:

Alpha Race

Armor Attack

Asteroids Deluxe

Astro Blaster

Astro Fighter

Berzerk

Burger Time

Circus

Frenzy

Frogger

Jr. Pac-Man

Moon Cresta

Pac-Man (Plus)

Q*bert

Rip-Off

Scramble

Space Duel

Space Invaders

Super Pac-Man

And I really would love to see a major improvement/upgrade to my favorite Arcade classic of all time...Donkey Kong!

Perhaps, improvements to other titles already ported over as well.

If only this could happen on the 7800...

:ponder: :)

Many of these already exist?

Asteroids Deluxe

Burger Time

Pac Man (Plus)

Q*bert

Rip-Off

Space Duel

Space Invaders

Super Pac-Man

These are the ones I know.

Trebor and I were essentially saying, "Hey don't forget all the stuff that already exists in the Atari Age Store!"...Because sometimes it's easy to forget what's already out there...Once I get some money, I should get some more homebrews... :)

I was also thinking along similar lines...Hence, my opening statement in the post, "Taking a cue from GoldLeader..." :)
