ZillaRUSH
I ordered the Super Pro Baseball...as it is only board/PCB and I have no experience with putting such a board into a cart shell. 1) What is the best way to take apart an old cart? 2) How do I secure the board into the Cart shell? 3) Seal up the cart shell? Thanks in advance! Pete
mthompson
The best option is to use a shell that has screws holding the cover on. Remove those, lift off the cover, and replace the old board with the new. It just drops in and is held in place by some locator notches. Be sure to orient it correctly, with the chips facing down as you're looking at the open shell. It's possible to install it upside down, and that wouldn't be good. If you've got only a cartridge that's glued shut, all is not lost. I have pried them open carefully with reasonable success using a utility knife. +intvsteve
Use a shell with screws. Two Philips screws. Simply remove the two screws and take off the "door" Lift the edge of the existing board that's away from the end you insert into the console These things are rugged, so don't be afraid to wiggle the board around a bit to get it to come out - it won't be tough When putting the new board in, keep the chips in the same orientation as the original board had them The board likely has screw holes that will line up the same way as the original board Then just put the cover and two screws back in! The chips should be on the side with the label. When put into the Intellivision console, the chips will be facing up.

+JasonlikesINTV
I'll add a few suggestions. Use the exact same screws that you removed from the donor shell. I've seen two types of screws used for Mattel shells - narrow threaded and wider threaded. If you remove one type, but replace with the other type you may mess up the female threaded plastic inside the shell. Eventually it will crack and break. Ever hear that rattling sound inside of some carts? Speaking of which, don't overtighten the screws. I also take advantage of the opened shell to do some Spring cleaning to remove dust. Also, if the screws are rusty, wipe them down with a little WD-40 to clean off some of that oxidation. Good luck! ZillaRUSH
Only ordered baseball. Just played my first game....whew...def toughest baseball game. On All-Star Baseball...you hit and steal easily every time. This game is tougher to steal...2nd base is somewhat easy, but third is tough. Fast pitching is very cool. I realized if you pitch slow...the hits don't go as far for the visitors. Fast pitches get hammered. The big difference I see so far is that you better know how to play defense....especially the outfield. I had a learning curve in the first two innings and gave up 10 runs. Lost my first game (pic attached). Visitors win. Challenging....which is good. Will see if I can win one this weekend.
ZillaRUSH
Third game...finally got a win!! 14-13. Def one awesome challenging baseball game. Visitors are tough!! Have yet to complete a 1-2-3 inning. Your fielding skills are put to the limit. Kudos Intelligentvision!!
