+doctorclu #1 Posted November 8, 2016 (edited) Thought this was cool. And the Jaguar gets mentioned which is also cool. Link to original article here. "Rayman creator Michel Ancel updated his Instagram feed today with a cool story about a long lost Rayman game that he finally found and booted up. The developer wrote, "We have found the old unique Rayman SNES ROM !!!! It was sleeping for 24 years ..... Time to wake it up !!!!" His next post was a picture of the game running on a SNES, with a caption teasing (joking?) that he'd like to bring a version of the game to Nintendo's new Switch console. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/unfinished-rayman-snes-game-found-after-24-years/1100-6444722/?bt_alias=eyJ1c2VySWQiOiAiNTVlM2UwY2EtY2I2OS00MTMzLTllM2MtMDE1OTVkYzIwMjk0In0%3D&utm_campaign=20160510&utm_medium=email&utm_source=weekly_newsletter "It's working !!!! 4 people in the world have seen this . We thought it was lost , but somewhere in the cold electronic circuit, something was still alive," he wrote. "And running at full 60fps !!! should do a Switch version of this." Earlier this week, Ancel posted about the canceled game, but he didn't sound very optimistic. He wrote, "The game was playable on the Super Nintendo console but was never finished + We've lost the build . All these pixels are lost , like tears in the rain ..." According to Unseen64, the game featured two-player co-op. Ubisoft shifted the project to support CD-based systems and came out in September 1995 for the original PlayStation and Jaguar. The franchise has spawned numerous sequels, the latest in the core series being 2013's Rayman Legends. Edited November 8, 2016 by doctorclu
Punisher5.0 #2 Posted November 8, 2016 Very cool. A few of weeks ago I was wondering what Rayman would have looked like on the SNES.

WAVE 1 GAMES #6 Posted November 8, 2016 He actually has a short video clip of it posted on his IG. Just watched it! Looks totally differnt from the Jag version. Still very beautiful. I wont get too excited about the possibility of a rom release as it looks like a very early attempt. I remember i went apeshit crazy when that Frogger 2 N64 prototype rom leaked only to be disappointed that there was no sound and it was far from an actual game. This is one of those things you would download and probably run once or twice just to see what might have been then never play again.
+madman #7 Posted November 8, 2016 Someone posted this when it hit in the classic forum. I think it's definitely a cool curiosity, but at such an early stage in development I'm not sure there's much to be had in terms of play. It would be cool to see the ROM released just to compare it to the other versions, though.
Rick Dangerous #8 Posted November 9, 2016 SNES had a much bigger install base than the Jag. You wonder what their logic was for canning it on the SNES and then releasing it on the Jag.
