Recommended Posts

the old 8-bit system. my god i have six of these at my house none i thought worked and over the weekend i was digging in my attic for my old zeldas on this system i found them a box of 14 other games and one of my systems. being bored i tried it out and all of the games work great without even having to go though a great deal of work. i was just wondering if this happens alot. that maybe i overplayed the thing that's way it stopped working and now i dig it out play it for the first time in five years and it works like new again??

Most front-loaders can be fixed just by opening them up and bending the cart connector pins so they make a tighter fix, I've fixed two systems this way. Maybe your pins returned to a tighter fit over the years.

BTW, I was in the www.gamedude.com store yesterday and they're are selling front-loaders for $85, buying for $15. Now that's what I call a markup :)

My NES sat in an outside storage shed and then a garage from about 1991 till 2002. I plugged it in and it fired right up. I did remove the casing a few weeks later and gave it a formal dusting/cleaning.
