leech #1 Posted November 22, 2016 Anyone know where I could obtain a replacement clip for the JagCD? I'm talking about that little clip that holds the lid in place when it's closed. I broke mine years ago and usually have to set something on top of my JagCD to get it to not sound terrible as the disk starts to spin. Pretty sad that I've considered many times of just buying a 3D printer to create one myself. At one point in time the JagCD stopped reading discs at all, so I replaced the laser in it for 10 dollars, but I think I broke / lost the clip at that time (I'd previously had it glued since it had broken back in the day when I used to listen / watch music on the VLM a ton.) TXG/MNX #2 Posted November 22, 2016 Try B&c or best electronics Or someone must 3d scan it and remake it.
sirlynxalot #3 Posted November 22, 2016 Could you get a comparable part from a Walkman or other clam shell cd device? A different alternative would be to replace the spindle with a ps1 spindle and remove the top weighted part. I did that wroth a sega cd that had a very similar assembly as the jag cd with a weighted piece attached to the underside of the clam shell
leech #4 Posted November 22, 2016 Hmm, getting a clamshell style cdrom may work pretty well. I'll see if I can find something. Actually SainT has a 3D printer, I think and a Jaguar at least... I'll message him and see if he's ever tried to create a replacement.
TXG/MNX #5 Posted November 23, 2016 when you manage to re-create it with a 3d printer please share the 3d files here so other people can be helped aswell in the future.
leech #6 Posted November 23, 2016 SainT did let me know he has a JagCD somewhere, but it would be some time until he could get it out and do anything with it. I wonder how many others have had this issue? Of course if I can get a 3d model I would release it out there. I should just break down and get me a 3d printer myself, unfortunately some of the things I would want it for are too big unless I want to buy a really expensive one.
