Did I get a good deal on this?

Recommended Posts

For a new long box that's not too bad of a price. For the jewelcase only, I've seen DLair go for around $5-10. Vglq is a good shop but they are charging too much for shipping these days. I bought a Lynx II and 15 games for $80 from them as well as several Jag games a couple of years ago and they were great.

There's a clear-cut example of deception on eBay.

I will 99.9% guarantee you that the box is not included and therefore, SHOULD NOT be pictured.

Please give us an update when you receive your jewel case to confirm my suspicion.

What in that auction or this companies record makes you think that no box will be included? They show a picture of it, they have thousands of new Jag and Lynx games in their warehouse, so if anyone has new boxes of DLair's I would think VGLQ would.

They would have stated so in the auction - thus increasing it's value.

VGLQ doesn't knows this and you think they wouldn't mention it?

The lack of description is enough to make me leary.

Heck, with that description, it might not even include the jewel case!

VGLQ's response to complaint would look something like this:

We're terribly sorry for the misunderstanding. The item pictured was from our file which needs to be updated. We'll gladly refund your purchase price (less shipping/return shipping).

Who would even bother when shipping prices match the purchase price? Therefore, no negative ever gets posted because the seller offered to correct the problem. I had perfect feedback on eBay till someone screwed me, I posted negative feedback and the person returned the favor - after knowingly deceiving me. Do I sound bitter? DAMN RIGHT I AM!!!

ok, I can see where you are coming from. But hopefully VGLQ is still providing decent service. The first Lynx they sent me had a loose power socket and one the boxed games I got from them was slightly crushed. I was able to talk to them on the phone and they replaced everything to my satisfaction.

i dont like VGLQ, i dont trust anyone who sells used stuff consistantly and then new stuff here and there.

to me they're just like "megabuys.com" on ebay, That dude is horrible and i shouldve listned to the al lthe negatives he had back then - now hes got tons! i bought a "mint condition with box VR Stalker for the 3do, it came with a ripped and crushed box and the CD was scratched :) took almost 3 weeks to get it :)

but other than thaty, if you get what you payed for - then you got a good deal

Well, I sent out my payment. I had e-mail hime before the auctionand he assured me that it was brand-new and factory sealed.

It will be brand new sealed, but there are MANY sealed Dragons Lair's with only the jewel case. VGLQ has always sold them in the jewel case alone. It's still a fun game though, enjoy it. Let us know how it turns out when you receive it.

Update to my last post:

After having asked the seller specifically,

QUESTION:

"Does this game in fact include a box"?

RESPONSE:

"It is new & unopened"

This person also wants $5 priority shipping.

Last time I checked, priority shipping is $3.85. :x

All I want is a little honesty and no deception.

Alot to ask for these days, no doubt!

Well, packing materials are not always free, and fuel to get to/from the post office is not also free. I don't get upset over $5.00 for shipping. It's the people that charge $8.00 or $10.00 are the ones trying to make money on shipping.
