Slack available for That Other 8-bit!

This is kind of an interesting solution.

 

A client on the 8-bit which talks via rs232 to some translation shim on another box.....

 

This gets a little closer to the hardware than just telnetting to your linux box and running finch (which is what I do now) to talk over slack with my Atari.

19:10 <gozar> What would be nicer than a set up that only does the Slack API, would be one that would allow an 8-bit to just do any REST interface to the Pi, and then the Pi uses TCP/IP & SSL to make the connection to the service.
19:10 <gozar> Like the ethernet cart, but offload SSL and TCP/IP to the Pi.
19:14 <gozar> And since it's a Pi, internet games would be possible, using the pi to run the server for the clients.
