So, anybody have a complete Colecovision System?

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering. I collect Atari and CV. My CV collection is more advanded than my Atari collection. Anyway, since the CV library is significantly smaller than say, the 2600, it seems entirely possible to acquire the whole set. My question is, has anybody done it? :ponder:

CV games are tough to find in the wild though, and some get expensive. I'm only at 52 games (out of around 150) after five years of thrifting. Wberdan who hangs out at digital press probably is there or close.

Agreed. CV carts can be kind of tough to get. I think right now I'm just STARTING to get close to 40.

Yeah, I have about 25 carts so far, as well as the roller ball, and an ADAM. I've been having pretty good luck on the system lately. Another quick question; does anybody know of compatibility problems when hooking up a CV module to an ADAM computer? Since I don't have a CV console and only the ADAM, I can't tell if it is broken or incompatible :?

I have a complete collection :) Ok, Ok, if a multi cart counts ;) BUT, I actually do have a brand new Colecovision - never used, and the roller controller(brand new), Super Action Controllers(brand new) and the steering wheel(brand new). Most likey, none of it will ever be used......

I only have 10 CV games so far.

I tried bidding for them on EBay before but the price went out of my range by too much.

If anyone's got any spares, PM me. I could always use more CV games to give me a wonderful reason to play my CV more often. :D

Does your multicart work? I had one, but I could never get it to work on a consistant basis. It had to go into the system just right. The newer rekeases such as Pacman, Joust, and Dig Dug weren't on there. I loved the cart when I could get it to work.

I scored 24 different colecovision carts the other day at a thrift. 99 cents apiece :D Had Star Trek in the group.

My only score in awhile :ponder:

If anyone has a complete or near complete CV collection, it would HAVE to be Willie Berdan. He is one of the most hardcore CV collectors I know of, but I'm sure there are others I DON'T know of too!

I do have a pretty nice 3rd Party CV joystick collection: I've got the CV WICO, The Newport ProStik III (with the "Tri-Fire" bar), the Suncom JoySensor, the Amiga PowerStick, the Spectravideo Quickshot Deluxe, the Gemstick, the High Score HS-15, the Fire Command (4 button), the Champ Keypad adapter, and the very vare and desirable Questar Joystick (4 button). 8) The 2 Questars were purchased by me, new, back in the early 80's by mail order, and to date, no one else has confirmed that they own these Questar sticks for the CV!

Have a look around at my site: :D

If you put in the ADAM and all the games Coleco made for it, as well as the HUGE ADAM homebrew scene that was around just after it was orphaned, that's a challenge in itself. I have a fun text adventure RPG called Temple of the Snow Dragon.

I have a lot of CV stuff

3 consoles(2 working)

1 Atari adapter

1 Roller Controller

4 Superaction Sticks

A whole bunch of other controllers that still need to be unpacked

About 85-90 carts (still packed from my move so I'm not sure exactly how many) I have books and overlays for just about all of the carts but no boxes

The CV is my 2nd fav of all time

i have about 140 CV titles and am missing about 20, not including prototypes, demos, test carts. of course, it is possible to complete the collection, due to the smaller number of titles, but i would think it would be extremely difficult. there are a couple titles like the super sketch cart, and the Bit games, which are very hard or very expensive to come by. and there are a couple like telegames boulderdash, skiing, amazing bumpman, which used to be available from telegames, but since they are no longer selling these titles, you will only find them when some long time collector liquidates their collection.

is there a colecovision site that is anything like atariage...with rarity, and photos, and such?

i'd really like to hear from wberdan on this thread.

Not really. There is a colecovision site, but it's nowhere near as popular, nor has half the features AA does

oh i wish i could say " yes i have it complete!" but, i cant.

ianoid has completed his though.. damn annoying ianoids. *slap to the ianoid*

ive been too focused on the insane stuff and have neglected to pick up the last few carts i need... im missing:

dragonfire, amazing bumpman, alcazar, skiing, and boulder dash.

im not counting the bit corp games (even though i have one), cause those are questionable, and most that show up are adams house repros.

although--

i have some neat homebrew rarities that add to the cart count.. like:

jeepers creepers, bustin out 3, reversi, lode runner, double breakout, kevtris

:)

I drool when I think of Questar joysticks. if you want to trade one for a colecovision atari expansion module #1 adaptor (yes, the insanely rare one) .... shoot me an email ;)

It is cool to hear so many people into the CV stuff. My trusty ADAM still keeps entertained, although carts are hard to find in the wild. I have never had any CV thriftstore finds, although there is a videogame shop that sells a few titles, although I have them all. By the way, is $15Cad. too much for a super action controller? Will it work with my ADAM?

Super Actuion Controllers should work with the ADAM.

Does anybody here have a spare keyboard cable or floppy disk cable for the ADAM? I need one.

Unfortunately, I have never found any ADAM-related stuff (other than carts) around here. THe computer I have has been in the family since the 80's

I have a CV itself with about 40+ carts. For awhile about 2 years ago, I was finding CV carts all over for .99 cents a piece. I must have cleaned it all out as I haven't had a really really large CV score in a long time. My last score I was able to pick up a Nova Blast, Tapper, Tarzan, Frenzy, Destructor, Tutankham and a War Room with the overlay for .99 each at once one day. That was the last of that...hehe

I also have like 3 of the super action controllers and love them! I had to fix two of them for them to work and for the little wheel to function again, but they have been rock solid sense. I also have 2 pairs of the standard controllers and they work just fine as well.

I really like the CV and think the graphics and sound are fantastic for the era, but for some reason, the CV is missing a charm that I find when playing Atari games...

I'm far from having a complete system of ColecoVision games. But then, I'd rather have the games for it I want to play over and over again rather than those I might never touch in a good long while, if ever.

I love the CV but only have 9 titles which seem pretty common. From what i can remember the system was very expensive when it was released here and i dont think all that many where sold.

Ok, since I know almost nothing about the ADAM, I picked up a Donkey Kong cassette that said colecovision/adam I think. Did the ADAM use a cassette player instead of carts?
