Nes Advantage?

I got a reasonably good shape Nes Advantage from Disc Replay today for 15 dollars. And this adapter above link from ebay. From amazon I think. I don't remember but same item.

 

 

It works great. Allows me to use my nes or snes controllers on my Wii (not U, first wii version). The advantage works great on a real nes. And that adapter from ebay plugs into the gamecube ports on my wii and lets me play classic virtual console games like mario and punchout with a nes controller. Works great. Even my shinsea hyper stick works great for punch out.

 

But the advantage does not work. Works on real nintendo but not Wii. Any idea why it refuses to work with Wii?

This might be a dumb question, but did you make sure to have the "player button" selected correctly?

 

If not that, I'd say try a different joystick, but it looks like you already have..,.

Found the answer. That adapter just doesn't work. The mayflash one does however. Not sure why.
