Missile Command Easter Egg

I just read in a letter in the second issue of Atari Age that the 13th wave "RF" easter egg was removed from later releases of Missile Command. Has anyone ever found one of these?

What do you mean, do you mean if someone found one of the later ones? I've got the earlier version with the initials intact, myself.

As far as I know...no body has as yet, really come forth to claim they have one of these so called newer builds of the game without the egg in it.

I've personally tested over 40 MC carts and haven't found one yet. I had a friend with a very late dated cart (90 I think) that was PAL and it still had the initials. Therefore I don't think such a version exists.

Hmmm, I had read in an old Atari Age mag that the initials were supposedly removed later. But then again, several years after that they printed in the magazine in regards to someone who couldn't complete 7800 Mission Impossible that the game WAS solveable, that the guy who wrote the letter must've missed something

They probably meant to remove the initials but never got around to printing up a new batch of MC carts with the new code. Either that or they decided that easter eggs were ok and left it in (they did decide this later on, at least by 84).

That would make sense then, since this was before '84 that I read it.
