Well,

the official (commercial) version of LCP never made it to the A8. But there once was a simple public domain program available (written in Atari Basic) by a german programmer, named "Computer Inhabitants". Looks like the program was unfinished and/or full of bugs, but it found its way to many PD libraries, sometimes renamed to "Little Computer Project"...

The PD game was originally only available in german language, but in 2012 QTZ made a topic of it at atarionline.pl and after several E-Mails back and forth, we both created a new german and english version of it. Most (all?) bugs were removed and the game was made much more playable - still it is nowhere as good as the commercial version Little Computer People. Both updated versions were then available at atarionline for download, but it looks like not many foreign Atarians did download it there (or visited atarionline in 2012). I kept both versions in a folder to be released as Proc Atari Magazine bonus diskettes (two disksides full of files) at sometime, but maybe its better to release them here right now...

Okay, here is the short info-text I have written for these disks (AK is me, Andreas Koch):

"NOTE: "Computer Inhabitants" was a conversion of
Little Computer People on the A8 just for fun.
The original version had hundreds of bugs,
QTZ patched and fixed nearly everything and made
the game much more playable. AK translated the
texts into english, so now there is a german and
an english version of this program available.
The original/buggy version was PD, this bugfixed
version is still Public Domain ! Have fun !"

The atarionline topic was/is here:

Regarding the two download versions above:

- CompInh1.ATR is the german version (last update was afaik update 13, no title picture there)

- CompInh2.ATR is the english version (last update was afaik update 17, includes title picture)

Maybe someone could take the english version of Computer Inhabitants (and/or the C64 and/or the ZX and/or the BBC sources) as a starting point for creating a proper A8 version of LCP...?!?
