Steve Mynott #1 Posted January 10, 2017 I was interested to hear that Synfile+ was written in FORTH on a recent ANTIC podcast. I think the version was named but I missed it? Does anyone know which FORTH was used? S
luckybuck #2 Posted January 12, 2017 Hi Steve, does that mean, you have the SynFile+ program diskette from 1985 with the 128 K version?
Steve Mynott #3 Posted January 14, 2017 (edited) I'm afraid I don't have any special versions of SynFile+ (not of course Synfile++ which was a typo!) I do have two candidates for the FORTH since the same authors wrote Sherlock http://www.atarimania.com/utility-atari-400-800-xl-xe-sherlock-1050_s21453.html On that page one author says its PNS (Pink Noise Studios) Forth although someone else says the string QS-FORTH appears in Sherlock. A quick look and I don't see any obvious strings in SynFile+ I can find info about QS-FORTH but not PNS (I wonder if they might be the same!) Steve Mynott #4 Posted January 14, 2017 https://inverseatascii.info/2014/12/16/s1e6-synapse-synfile/ says the version 1.02 with 1983 could be actually 1985 (since it supports XE 128K which didn't exist at the earlier date). Screenshots in the 1985 manual on archive.org also show 1983 so its likely they just didn't update the year!
