Can Can Wonderland opened January 12th in St Paul, MN. They have got old pinball machines and old style arcade games from the 1960s/1970s and a few newer machines.

Most of the pinball machines were working. A few were not. The non working machines had signs stating "out of service check back soon". None of the old style arcade games were working. They also had a couple mutoscope film machines and an old vibrating foot massager.

So 12 working pinball machines. Most were $.50. A few were $.25 for the opening special.

They were really busy when I was there today. Pinball is just a small part of whats there. They also have an 18 hole miniature golf course, a maze, and lots of other stuff.

Pinball:
King of Diamonds (Gottlieb) (1967)
Top Score (Gottlieb) (1975)
Wild Wild West (Gottlieb) (1969)
Paragon (Bally) (1978)
Vector (Bally) (1982)
Soccer (Gottlieb)(1974) - out of order check back soon
Ding Dong (Williams)(1968) - out of order check back soon
Aquarius (Gottlieb) (1970)
Flicker (Bally)(1975)
Scuba (Gottlieb) (1970) - out of order check back soon
Big Deal (Williams) (1977)
Triple Strike (Williams) (1975)
Spin Out (Gottleib) (1975)
Harley Davidson (Sega/Stern) (1999)
Harlem Globetrotters (1978)

King Kong (Mutoscope) (1932) - out of order check back soon
Vibrant Foot Ease (c1950s)- foot massage
Sky Devil (Mutoscope) (1933) - short movie clip

Old style arcades (All of these were "out of order check back soon")
Captain Kid (Midway) (1966)
Gang Busters (Midway) (1974)
Jungle Drums (Williams) (1971)
United's League Bowling Alley (1959)

The one time I went there, the change machine was out of order. Of all the machines to go out of order. So I only got to play one game, and that was Bally's Rapid Fire. I can see why that game & Hyperball didn't get more made.

CCW's concept is great. I hope they keep on the up & up about pinball, having the machines work properly, not charging too much(EM games should top out at .25) and having as many amusment devices as room allows.

Also, they need to serve name brand cola. Their homemade cola is awful.

The Helicopter Trainer game brings back very fond memories -- I used to play it (in a slightly smaller cabinet) while waiting with my Grandfather to pick-up people at the airport. This would have been in about the late-1970s.

Very specific question, but what specific teams (if any) are depicted on the Stanley Cup Hockey game?

Aww man, they got rid of Jungle Queen!? The last time I was there in the fall of 2017 that was my favorite pin they had, but they have added a few cool looking new ones since then. I'll be going again next week so I'll have to check them out.

Also, their mini golf course is far and away the single coolest course I've ever played on; and I'm kind of a nut for mini golf. :D

Never heard of Mutoscopes, what are they?

The Mutoscope was an early motion picture device, invented by W.K.L. Dickson and Herman Casler and later patented by Herman Casler on November 21, 1894. Like Thomas Edison's Kinetoscope, it did not project on a screen and provided viewing to only one person at a time. You watch a flip book style animation much like a gif animation. In this case you look through a goggle interface and watch a little movie. Some were soft porn others are adventure scenes and others were smoking commercials. These were silent comedies of famouse comedians like Harrold Loyd

That's actually quite interesting. Thanks for that!

That reminds me, I haven't been to CCW in forever. Last was maybe a year ago for some trivia thing. They seem to flip-flop on the idea of having an arcade(with or without pinball machines). One minute they are plentiful, the next, not so much. The arcade game & pins are a nice alternative to just the mini golf there.
