NeoGeo Pocket Colour Flash Cartridge

is this better than a flashmasta? I had one of those for my ngpc but it seemed to delete the games once turned off and I'd have to reload them
Flashmasta was great but yes I'd say this is what you want these days. Just like the flashmasta was a step up from the Bung flash cart from back in the day, this is a step (or several, really) up from the flashmasta.

Hey I know this is not related to his project, but it may help even sell a few more kits, if anything it will be of interest to NGPC owners who read here.

Handheld Legend just very recently put a new drop in LCD backlight kit for the GBC that has really great quality and sips power (like the freckleshack) and isn't a pig (like the mcwill and midwestern panels.)  I'm only mentioning it because he's about to start supplying a ribbon cable for it so the kit can be dropped into a NGPC to have a clean popping screen like a GBA SP 101/DS Lite has and that's fantastic.

That's some mad progress!  23 days, line number 220, AND IT'S HERE TODAY!!!!  Works perfectly!!  Now I need to get a backlit screen. lol

Watch the handheld legend site.  They have this high ball quality custom LCD they made for the GBC, and the ribbon/board combo inside are compatible with the NGPC.  IT will need a tiny ribbon adapter, but once they have them, you can backlight your NGPC on the cheap for $50.  It will be far cheaper, drop in too no less, than paying some twat like $300 on ebay for one with an annoying LOCA job with a hazy front light.

No problem, and for your ease of looking: https://handheldlegend.com/products/game-boy-color-backlit-display

Also just released a same quality style screen for the original GBA too which looks fantastic.

Fitted one of the cheap screens last night, comes with all the cables. Only downside is it's smaller but totally worth it. Laserbear make printed surrounds to cover up the gap. Full size one is in development. Bad photos attached, screengrab of a video I took!

Nice!  Just bought my replacement screen and I will install it soon. Who is developing a full size screen?

Bennvenn who does load of them, mostly Gameboy related was going to use this screen for his own NGPC one till the Chinese got in first so he scrubbed that. He is now developing a full size screen which fits one of the Gameboys I believe but will also go in the NGPC. Doubt it will be out for 6 months or so hence I spent £50 on this one including the bracket. Yes it's smaller but good enough especially when combined with your SD cart which I got last week :) thanks!

Yup BennVenn and HHLegend are the only two I would trust on the NGPC and GBC front for a solid GBC backlit LCD panel that's drop in and play safe for anyone.  The screen is of excellent quality with good lighting and sharpness, also both of them compared to that Mcwill and the other equal mess aren't power vampires.

I bought a NGPC back in the day when they first came out and had a couple of games. Got another about a year ago and now have the backlit screen and SD cart. Some of the games I have now played really are good. Such a shame it wasn't backlit back then although I understand the reasons why not but also that more games weren't released on it. Cotton whilst being far too hard (for me hah) shows how good it would have been for shooters like the PC engine. Metal slug great, of course the fighting games and so on

Thankfully it has a lot (percentage) of games that are not fighting titles or the casino stuff either (japan mainly) so it has a wide well laid out spread of good choice much like the big arcade cab.  People make both sound like they're fighting game and metal slug boxes but they're ignorant trolls.  It's a shame SNK imploded and Aruze was such a disgusting waste of a company to hold them as long as they did as the NGPC really could and should have lasted longer.  It had gaming equals if not superiors to what GBC has with some titles, and had it did end up even with a frontlit setup like the original SP had, that would have been huge.  Can't wait for that ribbon cable and it would make me want to use the thing all over again.

Yer I played puzzle bobble and turf masters so much back when I had my first one, didn't have any of the fighting games back then.

I had a mix of both as I was still quite into fighting games then.  Below is what I have now.  I did not originally have Dark Arms, yet the sad trade off is that I don't still have Rockman and Cotton because greedy cows have decided to make the prices on them, mostly so Cotton, a sickening joke.  It's a huge reason along with some other games and still hopeful betas, protos and new projects to come I got the NGPC SD Kit from saint there.  When I had the stuff the original go around everything was bought new or complete second hand, and sadly that isn't the case now as again, greed of the market.

- Baseball Stars Color
- Biomotor Unitron (US-CIB)
- Dark Arms: Beast Buster 1999
- Fatal Fury: First Contact
- (The) King of Fighters R2
- (The) Last Blade: Beyond The Destiny

- Metal Slug 1st Mission (EU)
- Metal Slug 2nd Mission (EU)
- Neo Turf Masters
- Pac-Man
- Puzzle Bobble Mini
- Samurai Shodown! 2

- SNK Gals Fighter
- SNK vs Capcom the Match of the Millennium
- Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure

Hello James,

I signed up for a pocket SD some time way back, got married, raised several brats, they flew the coop, I retired, and just only now found some time to try play some games on my ngpc and tried to check my place in the queue.

But the link I had didn't work anymore. Where do I check?
