Atari 2600 Anygame Cart and Server/Development System

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I know. The shot of a CD player strapped to his face is pretty funny too. If I had the time... :)

If I understand his description correctly, it looks like he independently developed a Cuttle Cart of his own, and just for personal use. Cool. On a slightly related note, I am sooo looking forward to the CCII.

This is obvious not some run of the mill hobbyist we have here! He made VeCaves/Spike's Spree. I've had one of these for a long time now, but I think this is the first time I read his site and the amount of work he went into making the overlay that went with it - insane!! :o I'm highly impressed by his form of insanity though, as I am with any homebrewer who makes a superb finished product, whether it's Protector for Vec, Thrust+ for 2600, or Klax for 7800. I love the fact there are people out there nuts enough to make this stuff for people like us who appreciate it!

I stumbled onto this today: http://www.upl.cs.wisc.edu/~de-smet/projects.html

A pretty neat read, scroll down about halfway for the Atari 2600 projects.

He seems like a pretty industrious guy.

What I like most about this is the infinite recursion inherent in the label. The label has a picture of the cart lying against a machine. On *that* cartridge's label there's a picture of the cart lying against a machine. On *that* cartridge's label....

I wonder how many levels it actually has, as opposed to how many are implied (infinite).

Cheers

A

It looks like the console in the label of the cartridge in the label doesn't have a catridge leaning against it.

My entry to your old competition goes at least two layers deeper than that.
