Programming EPROM with 8-bitclassics board

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm trying to program an 2732 eprom with a dataman 48. I loaded a testrom (pacman) and put the chip in and started the atari but nothing happens. Is there something specific you need to do to load the ROM property onto the eprom?

Did the eprom verify ok when you programmed it? Are you sure your using the correct type of cartridge for that eprom?

Check that programming voltage is set to 21V and duration should be 50ms/byte. It will take about 3 1/2 minutes to program if set correctly. Also check you have chip oriented correctly in the board. Is the board facing the right direction in the 2600? Might also be a good idea to post the binary you are using so we can check it is ok.

That is the first thing you should check, re-read the chip after you program it, and compare to the original file.
