NES King Fu cart with Popeye ROM?

Recommended Posts

I picked up a copy of kung fu for the Nintendo today I went to test it tonight and instead of kung fu Popeye came on when I put the game in. Has anyone else experienced this ?

Open it up and look at it, someone could have just swapped the roms w/eproms for fun. However it would make more sense that seeing how kung fu isn't that great of a game that maybe Popeye's case was damaged and they just swapped the pcb.

Considering those are both probably five-screw games that can be disassembled with a standard screwdriver, then most likely someone rented an NES game and decided to keep it by swapping it with a game he didn't like. I understand this was a common scam back in the day.

Odds are that was a factory error are almost non-existent, much like your ability to prove it was versus anyone swapping the board to either steal it or find someone to trick into thinking it was a factory error. :)

Also Kung Fu is awesome, what are you talking about? Get beyond the Popeye branding that is the weaker title. I've had both since they came out in the 80s.
