cowdog360
Well, since I have another completely fried Lynx, it was prime for another Pi project. This is similar to the first one I did, but I've been video documenting the whole thing. There are tons of youtube vids on my channel showing the whole breakdown: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZbE9bKzoIYy2owMF77NbwA That should be good in case anyone else wants to do one of these!
Trew
How much to mod one of my broken Lynxes for me? That's what I want to know

cowdog360
And all done. Local buddy made me a laser cut bottom panel. Love it! If there is enough demand I may work up some form of a board to make this easier, it's about 40+ hours of work in it. bdoi
looks awsome cowdog! congratulations, great work!! Do you have a list of all the needed part for making this beautiful mod?
sirlynxalot
Looks awesome! I'd like to turn a Lynx 1 into a functional computer, something about seeing a command prompt display on a lynx 1 is appealing, probably because the lynx reminds me of all the dos games I played in the 90s.
+karri
I found out that by using a large font you can really use a 4 inch screen for text editing and shell commands. But this bottom plate is really stylish.
Turbo Laser Lynx
Beautiful stuff man! You'd never really need anything else for gaming! (Except for a real Lynx obviously). +af0l
That flex cable connector, did you scavange it off your lynx, or were you able to source it from somewhere else? I ended up conductive glueing wrap wires to the flex and soldering them to the board, because the connector fell apart....
cowdog360
I pulled mine off the board, but I use a Hakko FR-300 desoldering gun, so it just fell out no problems. The glue is innovative though! You can get a replacement connector here: http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/molex-connector-corporation/0039532145/WM2861-ND/2405232 I'll try to get a write-up of everything here shortly. I'm also in the process of designing a PCB that plugs into the PI's GPIO port and has the lynx flex connector soldered on it, audio DAC, safe shutdown circuit, and will utilize the ON/OFF buttons correctly. Since the Pi Zero W dropped today, that's what I'll use to test it with.
