avanze
My Atari 1050 reads Quasimodo perfectly, but the GT runs into a copy protection screen. It's the Synsoft release. Any way around this? It's one of my favorite games too!!
lemiel
Never - v.1.2 firmware should help. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/261744-indusgt-looking-for-firmware-v12/
Bikerbob
Does the Quasimodo game use bad sector protection? Have you checked the Indus speed? if your up or down 10 rpm you might still read, but a sector based copy protection might not give the right feedback. avanze
Unfortunately, I don't have the original operating Indus GT disks. So I can't change the speed setting on the drive.
ijor
I'm not very familiar with the Indus, and I don't remember the exact details of the protection on that release. But many protections are very picky and they won't run in any third party drive. A few titles are even 810 only, they break even on an Atari 1050. Possibly your only option for the Indus is to use a crack.

Why do you need the original disks to adjust RPM? Do you have any other RPM test tools? You can try SmartDOS. It has a speed test built in. tep392
Anyone know why Atari wasn't closing the loop on motor speed on their 3rd gen floppy drives? I have HO trains that use back emf to do closed loop speed control.
