my favourite is thexder and caos begins perhaps. it seems i like exploringing caves on foot is why i like these.

 

I also like many games like the new knight n' more, I like princess quest & zombie near. There are a bunch I tend to like sword & sandals more than shooter types.

Anyone want to give a quick review of 'The Void'? I've seen it on eBay, but didn't bite.

 

I'm still most impressed by Pippols and Bomb 'n Blast -- those two are great games.

I wanted to buy a bunch of homebrews but I currently have no system. I'm not at all eager to go through the rounds of buying flaky units off ebay, trying to get a good working unit, then trying to get good working joysticks and then having the system fixed/modded for clear video output. It's just too much hassle for me personally. That's why I've been hoping that the CV replacement boards would've finally come out by now. That's what's holding me back. If I could get a new CV that's already f-18 capable, not some raspberry pi emulation board, I'd be a lot more willing to buy physical cart games.

I have 2 sets of the Computer Space/PONG release by CollectorVision. One colored carts and one black carts set. They're impressively done arcade simulations, of the arcade originals by Kiwi.

To comment on just a few: I am very impressed with Chaos Begins, enjoying Lord of the Dungeon, and I was pleasantly surprised by The Stone of Wisdom.

There are some not shown in this video, like variations of lots of homebrews, like the clamshell version of some of the AtariAge releases or the smaller boxed PKK games. And of course any of the homebrews that were loose carts only (like Kevtris, Mr. Do!'s Wild Ride, the Opcode, Team Pixelboy, and CollectorVision "Development Lab" carts, etc) aren't featured in this video. There is almost too much to show in one video! lol

I used to have a late 2000s Sansui 13" TV/VCR combo CRT that looked really bright and crisp. My main issue with CRT TVs is the vertical and horizontal cropping.

ColecoVision home-brews usually display some sort of cropping on off the shelf CRTs. There is no side cropping on PVM monitors. So I upgraded to a PVM.

 

I also just discovered that the box art to Mecha-8 in the attract mode is exclusive to the ColecoVision version.

Pretty fun stuff.

It is because most of homebrewer did not read the official colecovision development guideline. In fact it is written to not use the first and last columns on the screen because most of TV screen will crop them. I guess developpers in the 80's were aware of that issue because i guess they have the officiel colecovision documentation... and probably only that one!

I am about to order about 3 Homebrews for the Super Game Module. Not 100% sure which ones yet, but I'm narrowing it down.

Other than that the only game I have that might be considered a homebrew is Ms. Space Fury, which I won in a contest on the Digital Age website many, many years ago!
